My Demon Episode 14 Recap and Review Do-hee's Personal Hell

The next day, even Do-hee’s office is in chaos, but she tries not to give it too much mind and do her work. Ga-young goes to visit Seok-hoon and gives him the ticket to her last performance as she feels guilty for deceiving him. They share a quiet meal together.

Gu-won gets visited by Se-ra, she returns the demon manual to him and reveals that what her husband said might be true regarding Do-hee’s parents. Back in her office, Do-hee still cannot get over the fact that Cheon-sook killed her parents. Thus, she starts to do some digging behind the incident. She then gets to know from an article that Seok-min’s body has still not been discovered. From her secretary, Do-hee also gets to learn the limp Cheon-sook had was right from the time her parents died.

To find out more about this, she goes to Cheon-sook’s office with Gu-won, and there, when she looks at Cheon-sook’s Bible, she thinks of going to the church Cheon-sook visited. When they saw the priest, Gu-won got a bad feeling from him but waited outside to give them privacy. The priest disclosed to Do-hee how, on that night, Cheon-sook fought with her parents regarding some hazardous decisions she made about the company. Her father promised to expose her, and hence, she chased their car when they tried to flee.

But that is when suddenly an accident happens, and their car turns upside down. Gu-won then visits and reveals that Do-hee’s father was the one who made a contract with him 10 years ago. He has finally come to collect his soul. This whole scene is witnessed by Cheon-sook, who correctly guesses Gu-won’s identity. Gu-won tries to make a deal with her as well, but that is when Do-hee’s parent’s car blows up, confirming their death.

Do-hee is devastated after hearing this, and she comes out of the church pretending to be okay. They both go home, but Do-hee breaks down crying in the bathroom. Gu-won witnesses that and goes to the church to confront the priest, but Gu-won gets to know about the whole ordeal from him and remembers the deal he made with Do-hee’s father. Gu-won later finds Do-hee in front of Cheon-sook’s memorial, where she questions if she would have fallen in love with Gu-won had she known the truth.

At the collaborative event at Sunwol Foundation, Do-hee tries to talk to Bok-gyu, but he tells her to wait for him at Gu-won’s office. She waits there, but then a woman with bags full of money rushes to the office, and Do-hee hides in the clock room. There, Do-hee sees the woman desperately trying to give all the riches back to Gu-won so that she can stay alive. But Gu-won mercilessly takes her life and fulfils his deal.

My Demon Episode 14 Recap and Review Do-hee's Personal Hell

After seeing such a gruesome scene, Do-hee rushes out and meets with Seok-hoon and leaves a guilt-stricken Gu-won standing. Gu-won goes to God and accepts that he is again becoming the reason behind Do-hee’s sadness. Thus, when the next time he meets with her, who again acts fine in front of him, Gu-won breaks up with her and leaves her alone so that she can escape her hell.

My Demon Episode 14 Review

Obviously, things were too romantic in the past couple of episodes, and thus, the makers had to make us sad with this one. Here, our protagonist faces another blow to their relationship that is serious enough to resolve their marriage. Hopefully, Gu-won will come back soon to save Do-hee from grave danger. This is because even I do not believe Seok-min is dead, and if he is, I think he might come back as a devil himself.

The series is streaming on Netflix right now.
