Another day, another adventure in the Ranoa University for Magic. Let’s see how Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Episode 7 goes for our protagonists in this review!
Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Episode 7 Overview

Mushoku Tensei, also known as Mushoku Tensei Jobless Reincarnation or Mushoku Tensei Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu in original Japanese, is an adventure, drama and fantasy anime based on a light novel series written by Rifujin na Magonote and illustrated by Sirotaka. This episode is also known as Mushoku Tensei Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Episode 7 and Mushoku Tensei Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu Season 2 Episode 7.
The latest season of the anime is being directed by Hiroki Hirano, who served as an assistant director of the second part of the show’s first season. However, the studio that produces and adapts the anime remains the same, as that responsibility again falls to Studio Bind, who haven’t really done anything other than Mushoku Tensei. Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Episode 7 Review- The Kidnapping and Confinement of Beast Girls

This was my favourite kind of Mushoku Tensei episode. No big stakes, no major battles, and no stale adventuring. Just Rudeus and his associates being absolute degenerates in peace. This was the kind of episode the writer could make ad nauseam, and people would keep coming back for them, despite there not being much to them. This episode was a small sample of what a slice of life centred at Ranoa University and featuring Rudeus and Sylphiette could be, and it was fantastic because of it.

Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Episode 7 was the funniest episode of the show in ages. When it wants to, Mushoku Tensei can be an actual riot; such is the strength of its characters and the environment it is able to create. Much of the humour comes from Rudeus’ past self coming out from him when he is faced with matters that would have deeply hurt him in his past life- like his pervy Roxy statue he worked so hard on breaking down. May the Lord have mercy on whoever hurts a representation of Rudy’s Goddess, for he won’t.

And he didn’t. Rudy went absolutely bonkers on Zanoba, with whom he shares some fantastic chemistry, to the beast girls who destroyed the statue in the first place. A lot of the humour also came from the fact that Rudy did not need to do any of these things. He could have been the bigger person and let things go, especially since he could have very easily repaired the statue. This was a matter of principle, however. This couldn’t be let go. Roxy had been disrespected, and Rudy was out for blood. Maybe a little breast squeeze, but mostly blood.

This episode was also good for one more thing- another example of just how strong Rudeus actually is. He made minced meat of students who had been studying this for much longer than he was. Not only that, but it took me seconds to take them out alone with his superior fighting experience. It is good to see him dominate from time to time. He has had to lose a lot to get good enough to do this, and his strength tight now feels cathartic. Who doesn’t want to watch an adventure protagonist kick some ass from time to time? Something like this will always be appreciated.

Then there’s the will they-won’t they dynamic between Sylphie and Rudeus that was also at its peak this week. We went through the world as Sylphie for a bit, which was refreshing, although we still don’t know why she won’t reveal her identity to Rudeus and keeps playing these games. I get that she might be under orders by the princess to do so, but wouldn’t not dropping any hints be a better way to protect her identity than the coyness she keeps on representing? Either way, I am not tired of it just yet, but it runs the risk of playing out.
Verdict
Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Episode 7 was a hilarious episode that was light on storytelling but was extremely entertaining because of it. A refreshing palette cleanser, if you will.
