Mrs Deshpande Ending Explained
The series opens with a bunch of copycat serial killings bringing the attention of Arun Khatri, who immediately realises that the killer’s modus operandi exactly matches that of Mrs Deshpande, an infamous serial killer who murdered abusive men years ago. However, before he can get in touch with her, Deshpande herself sends him a note to get in touch after hearing about the killings on TV, telling him that she wants to help him solve the case. But, she has only one requirement – she will only work with Tejas Phadke.
Tejas is her son, but he doesn’t know it and the two work together to figure out who could be the killer. They go back to Deshpande’s years as a serial killer and everyone she saved from the hands of the abusive adults in their lives, and realise that the killer can be one of her victims’ sons, Alex. Tejas decides to question him, but realises that he has nothing to do with the murders. The two eventually become good friends, until he, too, ends up murdered similarly.

Heartbroken and with a renewed sense of getting revenge, Tejas and Deshpande try to figure out who could be the killer and, in a surprising twist, the killer themselves reaches out to Deshpande. She tries to get them to slip up and tell her her next victim, and, thankfully, they can save one of their latest victims.
Who is the killer?
In a shocking twist, the killer turns out to be Divya, Tejas and Tanvi’s friend. She was born male, and that made her a target for her parents’ abuse, especially her father’s. He used to abuse her daily, and Mrs Deshpande helped her escape his clutches. She became her fan and, after Deshpande’s supposed death, she helped pay her dues to her by helping Tejas and Tanvi in any way she could.

Why was Divya murdering people?
Divya changed her sex to female once she grew up, hoping to get the love and affection that she had been desperately craving. However, when men learnt about her truth, they ended their relationships with her, which triggered her to realise that people will always be bad no matter what, and so she decided to take matters into her own hands and follow Deshpande’s footsteps to rid the world of bad men.
Is the killer caught?
The killer is caught after Tejas shoots Divya while the latter was having a conversation with Deshpande.

What happens to Mrs Deshpande?
Deshpande and Tejas share a good relationship after the ordeal, but she ends up running away during the scuffle with Divya, arriving at Dinanath Phadke’s house. Tejas, too, eventually gets there after going through Deshpande’s file, and we learn that all of this started after she was raped by her own father, Dinanath, as a child. When her mother tried to stop him, he killed her too and then took Deshpande to a psychiatrist who made her forget everything.
However, after visiting a therapist in jail, Deshpande can face those memories again and ends up trying to get revenge. However, Tejas stops her from committing another murder and in the emotional reunion, Dinanath ends up taking his own life.

What happens in the end?
In the end, Tejas takes Deshpande back to jail, but she pulls one last trick and ends up handcuffing Tejas to the car and making a run for it with a smile on her face, possibly hinting at her having some other plans for the future.
