Moving In With Malaika Episode 13 Review: A Not So Merry Christmas

Moving in With Malaika Episode 13 premiered on December 26, 2022, with a runtime of approximately 26 minutes. The brand new reality show will centre around actress, model, dancer and VJ Malaika Arora. Created by Malaika herself, along with Banijay Asia, the show will give us an exclusive and up-close look at the life of the Indian celebrity.

The actress rose to fame for her appearance in the famous Bollywood song Chaiyyan Chaiyyan from the movie Dil Se.. along with Shah Rukh Khan. She has been in the public eye ever since, and her divorce from Arbaaz Khan, brother of Salmaan Khan, is one of the most talked about instances around the town. She has also been a victim of internet trolls following her dating news with Arjun Kapoor.

Hence, she has decided to take matters into her own hands and create a show that will show her true self.

Disney+ Hotstar description of the show reads:

ALL SET TO SHOWCASE HER TRUE SELF, MALAIKA WILL SHUT DOWN TROLLS IN HER QUINTESSENTIAL ARORA STYLE AS SHE OPENS UP ABOUT HER LIFE.

Moving In With Malaika Episode 13: Where Is Malla this Christmas?

So it is Christmas Day in the Arora household, and the celebrity is getting ready to host a Christmas lunch. As she sits down to invite her family, Amrita informs her that she will not be home for the holiday and has planned a day out with her husband and children instead. Annoyed and upset, Malaika lashes out at her sibling.

Malaika decides to call her friend Seema Sajdeh, her long-time friend who was also once part of the Khan Family. They meet up at a small cafe after a long time and start catching up instantly. Seema expresses how Malaika has been a great influence in her life. During the conversation, Seema also reveals that Amrita has decided to ditch Malaika for the Goa vacation, which infuriates her even more.

They also discussed how social media has become an extremely toxic place and wonder if their kids are affected by it. Malaika’s son, Arhaan, acts maturely about the trolling situation and does not pay much attention to it. Nevertheless, they are angry about the faceless and nameless people on social media who drag their children into unwanted situations. Both mothers are thankful for their children and are glad their divorces have strengthened their bonds with them.

Later by the end of the episode, both celebrities pay a visit to an organisation and deliver gifts to a group of children. They spend quality time with the kids, and the episode ends positively.

Moving In Malaika Episode 13: Final Thoughts

Just as I thought this episode would be better than the rest, it disappointed me to another level. I wonder why this show is described as a reality TV series when not one scene in it is real. There is a high possibility that all the commotion with the sibling drama is entirely made up, as I came across an Instagram post of the celebrity posted by herself celebrating Christmas with her entire family. It is a clear indicator that she was not alone on the day.

However, the conversation about how social media has affected their lives was meaningful and important, but nothing that is not already known to the entire world. Overall the episode felt like a waste of time.
