Planning to Watch Moving? Here’s All About the Upcoming Webtoon Adaptation

Moving (무빙) poses the question – What would you do if you found out that you could levitate (read “fly”), and there are others around you who have secret powers? And that’s not all. There are bad people looking for you too. Well, don’t think much about it because South Korean visual artist Kang Full has already done it for you.

Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, which is Kang’s brainchild, comes an action fantasy directed by Park In-jae (Moby Dick, The Mayor). It’s good to see Disney borrowing its material from Korean animated comic strips which are very popular there. Korean shows are known for their perfect blend of fantasy and emotions which makes the former appear grounded. And from the trailer, it seems that this one too will be the same.

Moving Plot/Synopsis

When Kim Bong-seok realises that he can fly, he has no idea how to cope with it. However, things get even weirder when his schoolmate Jang Hui-soo too reveals that she has powers. And it’s not normal of course. Are there others with powers too? As per the trailer, there are. The question is how did they get these powers? They have to keep it a secret because no one knows what the outcome will be if word gets out.

Unfortunately, it does. Where there is power, there are power-hungry people too. Kim, Huisoo and the rest of the “powered” students are being tracked by someone. There is some kind of conspiracy headed their way and they have to keep themselves safe without spreading fear. Is the school involved in this? Or is it the work of some other organization? It does seem like the latter although we cannot negate the possibility that the school and the organization can be connected. Stakes will be high and lives will be at risk. The students will have to keep “moving” if they want to be safe.

Moving Release Date and Trailer

Moving will have a total of 20 episodes. The first 7 episodes will drop on Disney+ Hotstar on August 9, 2023. The following episodes will drop on a weekly basis. Each episode is expected to be of 60 minutes. Here’s the trailer.
