From mushy romantic comedies to scary horror and thrillers, there’s a variety of movies to choose from. Also, the anticipated Marvel movie Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania is releasing this weekend, which many have been looking forward to.

Squared Love All Over Again

Squared Love All Over Again is a Polish romantic comedy sequel directed by Filip Zylber, written by Wiktor Piątkowski and Marzanna Polit and starring Adrianna Chlebicka, Mateusz Banasiuk and Mirosław Baka.

It follows a celebrity journalist and a down-to-earth teacher who find their relationship in rocky waters when a job gets in the way of their new life together. Watch this movie on Netflix.

February 14

All the Places

Directed by Pedro Pablo Ibarra and starring Mauricio Ochmann, Ana Serradilla, David Chocarro and more, it is a Mexican comedy-drama movie where – Two siblings who haven’t seen each other in 15 years mend their relationship while fulfilling a childhood dream: a motorcycle road trip through Mexico.

A Sunday Affair

Starring Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Oris Erhuero and many others, the movie follows Lifelong best friends Uche and Toyin who fall for the same complicated man, which tests their loyalty to each other as they face a heartbreaking revelation. A Sunday Affair will be streaming on Netflix.

It is an upcoming Japanese teen horror movie where six high schoolers stuck in a murderous time loop must find the scattered remains of an unknown victim to break the curse and finally see another day.

It is based on the manga by Katsutoshi Murase and Welzard and is directed by Eiichirô Hasumi; starring Kanna Hashimoto, Gordon Maeda, Maika Yamamoto, Fuju Kamio, Kotaro Daigo, Mayuu Yokota, Shuntaro Yanagi, Naomi Nishida and Tasuku Emoto. It will be available on Netflix.

Jim Jefferies: High n’ Dry

Jim Jefferies is back for his fifth Netflix comedy special, High n’ Dry and no topic is off limits. The comedian muses on stoned koalas, his dad’s vasectomy confusion, choosing between his hair and his sex drive and more. The stand-up will be streaming on Netflix.

Possessed

Possessed is an upcoming Malaysian horror movie where a teacher must put aside his personal traumas to rally his school in a fight for survival against a group of violent, possessed students. It is directed by James Lee and stars Alif Satar, Ikmal Amry, Abbas Mahmood, Elisya Sandha, Alicia Amin, Taufiq Hanafi, Ayie Elham, Syazwan Razak and Atiq Azman. It will be available to watch on Netflix.

February 16

The Womb

The Womb is a 2022 Indonesian horror thriller film directed by Fajar Nugros. The film stars Naysilla Mirdad, Dimas Anggara, Rukman Rosadi, and Lydia Kandou. In this movie, Wulan, a supermarket employee, was abandoned by her boyfriend after she became pregnant. She has to take care of the child she is carrying alone. She finds a group of people dedicated to helping expectant mothers like her and met the Santoso family who wanted to adopt her child someday. While living with the family, slowly some strange things begin to unfold.

Lost

Lost tells the tale of crime reporter Vidhi, who is out to find a missing college student. Her quest reveals the many layers of society, that redefines politics, love, and betrayal. It stars Yami Gautam in the lead with Pankaj Kapur, Rahul Khanna, Neil Bhoopalam, Pia Bajpiee and Tushar Pandey in supporting roles. Watch it on Zee5.

February 17

Unlocked

Unlocked is a gripping thriller about how an ordinary women’s enter life is hacked and threatened after losing her phone containing all her personal information. It is directed by Kim Tae-joon; starring Chun Woo-hee, Im Si-wan and Kim Hee-won.

On her way home from work, Na-mi (Chun Woo-hee) loses her smartphone, containing everything about her. Jun-yeong (Yim Si-wan) finds Na-mi’s phone and returns it to her, but after installing spyware. By tracking her everyday life, he learns all he can about Na-mi— her whereabouts, hobbies, tastes, work life, finances, and social network — and approaches her by concealing his true identity.

In the meantime, police detective Ji-man (Kim Hie-won) finds traces of his son Jun-yeong at a murder crime scene and secretly investigates Jun-yeong, suspecting the worst. Na-mi is relieved to have found her phone, but not too long, her ordinary life turns upside down and spirals out of control. All because she only lost her phone, her entire life is imperilled. It will be available on Netflix.

J-Hope in the Box

J-Hope in the Box is an upcoming documentary that follows the international music sensation BTS’ J-Hope, every step of the way as he works to release his first-ever solo album – Jack In The Box. It will give the viewers a chance to look at the creative challenges faced during the album’s preparation process, as well as front-row seats to his 2022 Lollapalooza performance and the album’s listening party.

It will be streaming on Disney+.

Shehzada

Shehzada is an upcoming action drama film which is said to be a remake of the 2020 Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. It is directed by Rohit Dhawan and produced by T-Series Films, Haarika & Hassine Creations, Geetha Arts and Brat Films. It follows the life of Bantu, who has been hated by his father since he was a child. Later, as Bantu grows, he realises that Valmiki isn’t his real father rather he is the son of a millionaire industrialist.

The cast of film stars Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon in the lead role. Along with Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Ronit Roy, Sachin Khedekar, Ankur Rathee, Sunny Hinduja, Shalini Kapoor, Rakesh Bedi, Ali Asgar, Rukh Nabeel and Ashwin Mushran. It will be available to watch in theatres on 17th February.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

The third instalment in the franchise, it is directed by Peyton Reed, written by Jeff Loveness and stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang and Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne alongside Jonathan Majors, Michelle Pfeiffer, Michael Douglas, Kathryn Newton, David Dastmalchian, William Jackson Harper, Katy O’Brian, and Bill Murray.

Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible. It will be theatrically released on 17th February.

Vaathi/Sir

Written and directed by Venky Atluri and starring Dhanush, Samyuktha Menon, Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, Samuthirakani, Thotapalli Madhu, Narra Srinivas, Pammi Sai, Hyper Aadhi, Shara, Aadukalam Naren, Ilavarasu, Motta Rajendran, Hareesh Peradi, Praveena & Others. It will follow the life of a young man and his struggles against the privatization of education. Catch it in theatres on 17th February.
