Mission: Yozakura Family Episode 26 Recap

Mission: Yozakura Family Episode 27 Review A Satisfying End

In this episode, we delved deeply into Kawashita’s history and his connection to Tsubomi, the first head of the Yozakura family. Taiyo tries to stop him from moving forward with the seed-sowing project, but Kawashita’s overwhelming inhuman strength proves too much for him. Kawashita’s body has undergone drastic changes, making him immortal, so even when his limbs are severed, he regenerates with ease.

Through this confrontation, Taiyo catches a glimpse of the past, witnessing Kawashita’s relationship with Tsubomi, who was subjected to experiments during wartime. Tsubomi was at the forefront of a new stage in human evolution—something the government attempted to exploit for their war efforts, though ultimately in vain. Held against her will, Tsubomi had always longed to escape her Yozakura lineage and live as a normal person.

During her darkest moments, Kawashita was there to support her. After the war, knowing he was marked for death by government forces and that Tsubomi would be taken far away, Kawashita made the ultimate sacrifice to give her a chance at freedom. However, in an unexpected twist, Tsubomi willingly shared her blood with him so they could face the future together.

After revealing his past, Kawashita claims that he and Taiyo are alike, both ordinary people who became entangled with the Yozakura family and lost their sense of self. Taiyo, however, rejects this comparison. While they both suffered loss, Taiyo points out that unlike Kawashita, who was controlled by Tsubomi’s influence, he still has a future with Mutsumi.

Mission: Yozakura Family Episode 27 Review And Recap

Here, we got a pretty positive end to a long journey. However, in the beginning, that was not the case at all. Taiyo fights relentlessly with Kawashita, who is set on destroying everything for the sake of his goals. But it is not just Taiyo who is fighting with the doctor, as other Yozakura siblings have also come to join him. With their help, Taiyo manages to even infiltrate the place where Kawashita placed the body of the past Yozakura matriarch. Thus, when Kawashita threatens to destroy everything, sighting his bond with Rei, Taiyo tries to go beyond his capabilities to win.

And perhaps his love towards his wife helps him gain that momentum, and we see our hero finally triumphing over his weaknesses. But that is not all we still have no idea about Momo, the father of the Yozakura siblings. Later, we do see him, but his current whereabouts remain a mystery. We are certain about one thing, he will not rest until he achieves his own personal goals. There is more to his story than we have discovered now, and he will definitely return in the next season.

At least for now, the couple, Mutsumi and Taiyo, can finally rest for the time being. However, the fighting was definitely not the highlight as in the later half, we got the official wedding of our couple. This event was chaotic and funny but, at the same time, very heartfelt. I absolutely loved the way we ended things on a positive note, and the Yozakura siblings got the chance to see their mother after such a long time.

Verdict

This episode was amusing and entertaining, but again, the events were predictable. The animation was also pretty decent, but it was not exceptional. Let us hope that they do animate a second season. The Momo part is still up in the air, so we need to know more.
