Mission: Yozakura Family Episode 25 Recap

Taiyo and Kyoichiro finally confront Kawashita, the leader of Tanpopo and the main villain. Kawashita attempts to manipulate Taiyo into attacking him, but Taiyo quickly realizes that doing so would result in the destruction of the entire island, forcing him to stop. When this plan fails, Kawashita resorts to a more direct threat, revealing that Nanao has been captured elsewhere.
Meanwhile, Nanao is trapped by Ai and Mizuki, who are tasked with preventing other test subjects from escaping. Mizuki unleashes a powerful cloud of poisonous gas designed to knock out anyone who inhales it. However, what Tanpopo doesn’t anticipate is that the Yozakura family didn’t come alone. Reinforcements arrive in the form of police, spies, and Hinagiku organizations. With this backup, Nanao is rescued and immediately engages in battle against Mizuki.
During the fight, Mizuki’s backstory is revealed. Though he doesn’t come across as inherently evil, his past is marred by tragedy. His entire family perished due to government and industrial negligence, leaving him on the brink of death. It was Kawashita who saved him using Hazakura, leading Mizuki to forsake society and ally with Tanpopo, believing he no longer had a place in the world. Ai’s tragic past is also uncovered, explaining her deep fear of anyone touching her head.
Mission: Yozakura Family Episode 26 Review And Recap

Today’s episode dived very deep into the background of Kawashita and his connection with Tsubomi, the first Yozakura head. Taiyo tries to stop him from continuing the seed-sowing project, but he gets gravely overwhelmed by the inhuman power of Kawashita. Not only that, but his whole body has undergone extreme changes, making him unable to age anymore. This is why, even after his limbs get cut, he regenerates himself pretty easily.
Through him, Taiyo also gets a glimpse of the past and sees how he interacted with Tsubomi, who was experimented on at the time of war. She is someone who was at the forefront of the next stage of human evolution, and this is what the government tried to use to win the war but was not successful. She was kept captive against her wishes, and hence, she has always wanted to destroy her lineage of being a Yozakura and live like a normal human being.

But she was not alone, as Kawashita was there to accompany her in her toughest times. After the war, understanding that Kawashita will be killed by government officials and Tsubomi will be taken somewhere far away, Kawashita sacrifices himself to set Tsubomi free. But what he did not expect is for Tsubomi to willingly share her blood with him so that they both can witness the future together.
After disclosing his background, Kawashita also claims to be very similar to Taiyo. They both were ordinary people who got entangled with the Yozakura family and, in doing so, lost their own selves.
However, Taiyo quickly refutes this idea and puts forward his own interpretation. Yes, this is true that they lost their loved ones, but, on the one hand, Kawashita was at the mercy of Tsubomi while Taiyo had a future ahead with Mutsumi.

Verdict
Today’s episode was very intense, and it had lots of information about the past and the origin of the Yozakura family. Now we are clear about the goal of Kawashita and why he has been willing to sacrifice many people for his project. Hopefully, in the next episode, we will be able to see the Yozakura siblings completely take him down.
