Mission: Yozakura Family Episode 23 Recap

The battle at Skull Mountain intensifies as Futaba clashes with Akai. Meanwhile, Keiko provides aerial support from a helicopter, skillfully taking down her targets. Kurosawa engages in a fierce fight with Taiyo, but Shinzo steps in to take Taiyo’s place. Their confrontation becomes heated, with Shinzo repeatedly firing at Kurosawa, who counters with his seemingly invincible body.
Akai struggles to hold her ground against Futaba and unleashes her powerful flames, sending a thermal ray of intense heat toward her. For the first time, Futaba is caught off guard. However, the real fight begins when both women activate their blooming abilities. It’s during this moment that we witness Futaba’s bloom for the first time, revealing her power to envelop and neutralize all attacks, making them ineffective.
Elsewhere, Nanao and Kengo confront Aonoma, resulting in yet another intense face-off. This episode also offers a glimpse into the inner workings of the Tanpopo organization, exposing dark secrets that have led its members down a path of evil. Despite their villainous actions, not all of them are completely heartless—some show concern for their comrades. However, there are others who show no remorse, killing both innocents and their own allies without hesitation.
Kengo, typically the most gentle of the Yozakura siblings, finally snaps after witnessing Kurosawa’s cruelty. He activates his own bloom, revealing a terrifying power that even he is afraid of.

Mission: Yozakura Family Episode 24 Review And Recap
This episode begins with the battle between Shinzo and Kurosawa, where Shinzo is winning. After his blooming, Shinzo now can destroy cells themselves, rendering them useless. Thus, when he strikes Kurosawa, the parts that get discarded turn into nothing but metal. Shinzo developed this blooming solely because he is a coward, according to him. He always feared weapons that could harm his family, thus, he made it a point to obsess over them to understand their nature properly. In this way, he can save his family from the very weapons that he fears.
On the other hand, we also get a glimpse of how evil the Tanpopo organisation is in their schemes, even though they might seem like a bunch of happy-go-lucky people. Their seed sowing project is a cruel plan, where they want to expose tonnes of Hazakura into the sea.

When the Hazakura reaches normal humans, chaos will ensue as the majority of the people will not be compatible with this deadly element. In this way, a huge survival of the fittest game will start, and the world will change forever for the worse.
But to stop this, the genius hacker Shion is trying her best to hack into the enemy system. However, she gets interrupted by another genius computer mastermind, Chacha. Thankfully, Kengo is there to help his big sister out even though he might not be an offence type of spy. But the situation completely turns in their favour when we witness the blooming of two more Yozakura siblings.
Shion’s blooming and Kengo’s blooming are very interesting as they complement their powers in a very nice way. Kengo’s blooming is perfect Assimilation, with the help of which he can completely become whoever he wants to be. On the other hand, Shion’s Analyzation almost gives her the status of a supercomputer.

Verdict
This was again a very interesting and entertaining episode. I’m especially interested in watching the blooming of Kyoichiro now. Hopefully, the mission will go in a positive direction.
