Mission Yozakura Family Episode 1 Review: Escaping A Deranged Spy

Mission Yozakura Family Episode 1 Review A Dangerous Family Full Of Spies

In this episode, we see the sad fate of a boy called Taiyo, who just can’t catch a break in his life. Recently, he has lost his family in a car accident and has become completely alone in the world. The only person who is there for him is none other than his childhood best friend, Mutsumi. But a deep sense of loss surrounds Taiyo, which is why, he tries to keep his distance not only from other people but also from Mutsumi at times.

Mutsumi, on the other hand, tries her best to make Taiyo feel at ease and support him through thick and thin. But their happy life gets disturbed when the vice principal of the school, becomes involved with their case. This teacher has always been obsessed with Mutsumi to the point of extreme and has been very protective of her. One day, when he comes back from a conference, he calls for Taiyo in his chamber.

There, Taiyo discovers a horrifying scene. Multiple pictures of Mutsumi, even from her childhood days, on the vice president’s phone. So, what’s the matter with this guy? Is he a pervert or a stalker? Actually, he is just a very overprotective older brother who can go to great lengths for his youngest sister, Mutsumi.

And by great lengths, I mean he can kill anyone without even batting an eye. But, that’s not all, Mutsumi belongs to a very talented family of notorious spies, and now, Taiyo get entangled in this mess where Mutsumi’s oldest brother is planning to kill him.

This episode was very interesting, and I do have very high hopes for this anime. The animation was pretty good, and the powers of the Yozakura siblings were showcased very nicely. From what I have seen, it seems that this will be a comedy-action anime where we will see the daily escapades of the Yozakura family.

The highlight of this anime is definitely its fascinating set of characters. Every sibling has a distinct personality with their own specialities in spying. From the oldest to the youngest, everyone has varied powers, and they excel at their job. Hence, it will be intriguing to see how Taiyo will be able to manage to survive in such a setting.

Verdict

I’m definitely looking forward to more episodes from this anime. This show almost reminded me of Spy X Family, so if you like memorable characters doing funny things in a badass way, this might be the anime for you. Other than that, it is still too soon to say if this will be one of the best shows of this season, but it does have great potential.
