Mimi Trailer: Pregnant Kriti Sanon in a Small Town Story Ft. Pankaj Tripathi

Mimi trailer starring Kriti Sanon, Pankaj Tripathi, Sai Tamhankar, Supriya Pathak and Manoj Pahwa is now out. The story is based on the 2010 Marathi film Mala Aai Vhhaychy starring Urmila Kanetkar. The trailer is of 3 minutes 3 seconds and has shown us a lot more than we expected.

Netflix India’s Mimi star cast have been teasing the viewers with some posters for the past few days. Hence, the excitement among the audience was sky-high regarding the trailer. Another cherry on the cake is AR Rahman’s music for the film.

The story is set in a small town and the opening scene of Mimi trailer is Pankaj Tripathi’s character telling Kriti Sanon how beautiful motherhood is. As they are inside the car, Tripathi says that if it were possible, even he would give birth to a child. In the next scene, we see glimpses of Kriti and Sai Tamhankar’s dance number. In the film, the Housefull 4 actor’s character is an aspiring dancer.

One day, Pankaj Tripathi’s character breaks the news to Kriti that a foreigner couple is looking for someone to bear their child via surrogacy. Whoever agrees to the procedure will get 20 lakh rupees. The lady is surprised to learn the concept of surrogacy and agrees to the same. As she is unmarried, Sanon’s character starts wearing a burkha and tells people she is Tripathi’s wife. Tripathi is a Hindu but pretends to be Muslim (unnecessary religious drama).

Mimi trailer reveals one of the film’s biggest twists – the couple refusing to accept the baby due to some complications. But Kriti Sanon is not ready to give up the child as her motherly instincts have kicked in. When her mother (played by Supriya Pathak) confronts Sanon about whose child it is, she points out at Tripathi. Someone says he’s a Muslim, and Pathak faints listening to the news (more drama).

If I write anything more about the Kriti Sanon starrer Mimi trailer, it will give away everything as the makers did in the trailer. Netflix India has kept a precise description for the film, which they failed to maintain in the trailer. The plot reads, “In order to fulfill her big dreams, a wide-eyed dancer from a small town in Rajasthan becomes a surrogate mother. The circumstances that follow in the next 9 months not only change her life, but also her as a person.”
