The recently released concept film for the Me Myself and j-hope photo-folio have justified its title All New Hope as the BTS rapper adorns an all-new avatar that’s bound to amaze you, while also startling you with the sudden switch in pace. In a former video posted on the South Korean boy group’s YouTube channel, the artist was seen declaring that he wants to shed off his previously adorned persona exuding a hopeful, colourful street vibe.

Gone are the days when Jung Ho-seok’s ever-smiling visage was deemed to be the sunshine of the lives of the group’s fanbase, known as ARMY. Taking on a new style, that starkly counters his older choices of outfits as well, J-hope’s Photo-folio concept has transcended all of our imaginations. Shocking reactions reeled in from his fellow members in a short video snippet are now falling under the relatable radar for the fans, who earlier couldn’t make sense as to why the other six members – RM, Jin, Suga, Jimin, V and Jungkook – of the Kpop band had screams in amazement upon witnessing the dance leader’s countenance in the film.
With only Suga’s Photo-folio concepts remaining to be seen by the public, today’s teaser forms the penultimate edition of the long-running series that hopes to exhibit different, unforeseen, personal shades of all the members, who’ve only been painted under the collective shadow of their band before. Jung Ho-seok’s concept film is quite in sync with his solo venture Jack in the Box released in July 2022, which again depicted his old school hip-hop musical roots drenched in a grunge visage.
Just like the artist himself has been perceived as ARMY’s beacon of ‘hope’ in the darkness, his portfolio’s first concept image released a day ago paints a similar picture with a rainbow-like light emerging out of the dark and murky clouds surrounding it on all sides. While the first few visuals of the video catch the dancer sporting a new purple hairdo (breathing a new meaning to the word ‘Borahae’), that instantly became a raging issue among the fans, the latter half of the video juxtaposes this tranquil picture with flaming scenes centred around J-hope wearing an all-black outfit and metallic-shaded accessories.
While the fans claim to have been left speechless after watching the recent developments, many ARMYs were found screaming their love for Ho-seok on Twitter. Here are some of those reactions recorded on the platform.
