MasterChef Australia Season 13 Episode 36 Review: It’s Crayfish Time

MasterChef Australia Season 13 Episode 36 is set outdoor at Apollo Bay in Victoria. Judges Andy Allen, Melissa Leong and Jock Zonfrillo, inform the contestants that the place has the best crayfish in Australia. The contestants have to cook using the freshly captured crayfish. As it’s a team challenge, the contestants will be divided into a pair of two.

Two teams that will serve the least impressive dishes will enter into the Elimination Challenge in the next episode. Each team has to make one inventive dish and one familiar dish using the crayfish. Jock gives a quick Masterclass to these cook on how to extract all the meat from the crayfish. The episode is a breath of fresh air as the cooks are out with a beautiful coastal view.

The teams of MasterChef Australia Season 13 Episode 36 are – Kishwar-Tommy (turquoise), Linda-Amir (blue), Minoli-Sabina (pink), Depinder-Justin (purple), Scott-Brent (brown), Pete-Maja (red) and Elise-Aaron (grey). The contestants will get 75 minutes to complete their cook.

Take a look at the inventive and familiar crayfish dishes cooked by all the teams in MasterChef Australia Season 13 Episode 36 –

Red Team’s Pete and Maja – Crayfish Onion (inventive) and Hibachi Crayfish

Grey Team’s Elise and Aaron – Gamba Alla Romana (inventive) and Grilled Lobster Tail

Purple Team’s Depinder and Justin – Crayfish Kathi Roll (inventive) and Roast Garlic Butter & Lobster

The dishes that win MasterChef Australia Season 13 hearts the most are Pete’s Crayfish Onion and Kishwar’s Malai Curry. I know that every curry is different, but at this point, curries have become the next ice cream of this season. I am sure Kishwar can make more than just curries because judges always love her cook. The other teams also did an amazing job with their inventive and familiar crayfish dishes.

But two teams had flaws in their inventive dishes – the pink team (Minoli-Sabina) and the blue team (Linda-Amir). Minoli’s dipping sauce splits, and Linda’s salad dish doesn’t carry the expected punch in flavours and the meat isn’t used generously.

The judges tell Amir that his Butter Poached Crayfish Tail would’ve been enough. But his side dish Linguine isn’t up to the mark and doesn’t tune in well with the main dish. Hence, Minoli, Sabina, Linda and Amir will be a part of the Elimination Challenge in the next episode.

MasterChef Australia Season 13 Episode 36: What’s next?

The next episode of MasterChef Australia Season 13 will be all about the vegetables. Among Minoli, Sabina, Linda and Amir, whoever fails to cook the best out of these veggies will have to say goodbye to the competition.

MasterChef Australia Season 13 Episode 36 is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
