MasterChef Australia Judges Andy Allen and Melissa Leong Pen Heartfelt Post For Chef Jock Zonfrillo

The news of MasterChef Australia judge and celebrated chef, Jock Zonfrillo’s demise has come as a shocker to many, especially to his fellow colleagues on the show, who were supposed to kickstart the premiere of the latest season this week. However, in a devastating post on the late Chef’s Instagram, it was shared that he had passed away.

Ever since, condolences have been pouring in his honour from fellow chefs, acquainted contestants and colleagues who worked along with him, through the years. Even Gordon Ramsay paid his respect and Jamie Oliver, who was supposed to be a part of the premiere episode, shared his experience of working with him along with some behind the scene pictures from the set.

Today, the fellow judge Andy Allen took to social media and penned down all his thoughts, since he came to know about the tragic news. He shared how the two met five years ago and became an integral part of each other’s lives. Allen also posted a few pictures where both of their families are seen hanging out together.

Allen himself was a contestant on MasterChef Australia season 4 in 2012 and then later joined as a chef along with Zonfrillo & Melissa Leong. Even on the show, the camaraderie among them was delightful to watch and the way they carried the show, mentoring the contestants and coming up with new challenges, truly entertained the audiences.

Melissa also posted on her social media page, sharing how much impact her fellow judge had on her life. Although, the sudden news feels too raw to process and might take her some time, to come to terms with it. She also thanked Zonfrillo saying, “Thank you for challenging me daily, for making me better, my work buddy and friend, purveyor of excellent morning coffees, hater of pears, okra and nasturtiums.”

The premiere of the show has also been delayed by the creators and it will not be airing this week. Although the new dates are yet to be revealed, it can be predicted to be broadcast sometime later this month. It will also mark Zonfrillo’s last appearance and will be an emotional watch.

MasterChef Australia Season 15 will be released on Disney+ Hotstar and will originally air on Network 10.
