Mandala Murders Ending Explained
The season opens with a ritual taking place, with several women surrounding two men tied to a ritual altar. However, when the villagers get suspicious and decide to go after them, they have to abandon their plans and flee. Years later, we meet Vikram Singh, who is a Delhi Police officer coming back home with his father. On the train, we meet Abhishek Sahay, a journalist, as the family grieves the mysterious disappearance of Vikram’s mother.
The next morning, Vikram and his father are shocked to find Abhishek’s body in the river, and it has been grotesquely arranged as if to symbolise something. That night, Vikram and his friend vow to find Vasudha after they find a pendant with the same symbol on Abhishek’s body. The next morning, we meet Ananya Bhardwaj, a bigwig in the political scene. It’s clear that she knows Abhishek, as the pictures that he was taking of Sujay and Vijay now seem to be in her hands.
Ananya is trying to win the elections, and this new scandal involving the CM’s aide with Sujay and Vijay turns out to be the perfect ground for her to make her next move. Of course, that’s just the beginning of the complications – coming into the scene is Rea, a CIB detective who is investigating Abhishek’s murder as well.

Rea meets Ananya after arriving at Charandaspur, but Vijay and Sujay attack them, while Vikram meets Urmila to learn what happened on the fateful night in Varuna Forest. Sujay and Vijay kidnap Rea and take her to the forest, hoping to use one of their goons to ask for a boon and get rid of all of their enemies. Unfortunately, that doesn’t go as planned, and the two end up losing their lives in the forest when a mysterious masked man kills them. It is here that Rea finally meets Vikram, who is also investigating the forest.
After she is rescued and the bodies are discovered, Rea dives headfirst into investigating what is happening, and Vikram tells her about the shocking mystery surrounding the Yadav brothers, Abhishek and his own mother. Rea talks to Shastri as well, a worshipper of shadows, as he calls himself. In a shocking turn of events, Shastri tells Rea that he’s going to be the next victim. Shastri points the investigators towards Jimmy Khan, who tells Vikram about a similar event that occurred during his great-grandfather’s time years ago and points him towards the Aayast Mandal.
With many mysteries swirling around them, Rea, Jimmy and Vikram investigate further, trying to unravel the truth behind this shocking mystery.
How do they know more about the mystery?

As the days pass, more and more dead bodies pile up according to the mandala designs. When Sahni dies at Monalisa Curio, Jimmy and Vikram explore the place further and learn that Leela Yadav has been a frequent visitor to the place. They question her, and she tells Vikram that Kalindi was the one who gave everyone the coins for the machine. She further tells him about Maithili, Vyankat Pandey’s mother, and shows him a plaque that Vikram had seen in the secret hideout in the forest.
Taking the symbols from Kalindi’s house, they go to the cavern in the forest and add them to the form on the wall. Jimmy realises that using the different body parts, someone is trying to create the perfect human being, based on da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man. Later, the police find some boxes in Vyankat’s locker and inside they find pictures of Kavita and her chain. As it turns out, the princess is Kavita. The revelation leaves Vikram shocked after he loses yet another person to this madness.
After Noor is kidnapped as another offering, Jimmy figures out the answer to the problem might be in Robert McCauley’s book and redirects Rea to it, and she realises that she, too, is a part of the puzzle.
What is the Aayast Mandal?

In 1951, Anant and Nandini came to Charandaspur to open a nuclear power plant. It was, however, located in the area where the puja site is located, and although the locals ask her to change the site, Anant refuses. They get to know about the Ayasthal and the Ayasthis who, according to legend, worship demons. They ask Nandini to talk to the Ayasthis, and Rukmini tells her that they are not witches, contrary to what others might tell her. She tells her about their god, Yast, but Anant barges in and tells them about removing the site. Rukmini warns them that something horrible will happen if they force their way in.
They, of course, do force their way in, and that night, Rukmini tells her about the Ayasth Granth and that it’s prophesied that Yast will come back to Earth through her if his abode is destroyed. Nandini refuses to believe them at first, but when Anant dies, just as it was predicted, she realises that she is being pulled by the Ayasthis. Eventually, she gives birth and becomes a part of the group, creating the Ayasth device.

We finally learn that in order to grant wishes, the devices take a life, and the sacrifice isn’t the thumb. All of the different body parts that have been going missing in the present will bring Yast back, and that is something that the Ayasthis had tried all those years ago but failed. Unfortunately, things go haywire as Yast comes to life. Rukmini mentions that Yast will bring a new world to life, and everyone who doesn’t believe him will die. Nandini refuses to be a part of this and starts to stop Yast from coming to life, but Rukimi stabs him as a result.
However, she isn’t able to stop her from burning the place down, even as she herself is on the brink of death. With Yast burnt down, Nandini leaves her newborn, who is eventually. As a result, Rea finally gets the answers that she is looking for – the person that she was seeing in her dreams was her grandmother, not her.
What happened to Kavita?
So, during the investigation in Madala Murders, it comes out that Vyankat, who was a helper in the Bhardwaj house, was in love with Kavita since they were children. He wanted to be worthy of her love, so he worked hard for years, and after he was able to buy a house, he tried to propose to her. But he soon realised that she was in a relationship with Vikram and thus he snuck into her house to plant a hidden camera. After peeping on her for days, he came across their conversation about Sumer Raina and the corruption scandal and told the minister, hoping he would kill Vikram. Unfortunately, Kavita was attacked.

What happens in the end?
The Ayasthis abduct Vikram, and we finally learn who is behind the attacks this time around – to everyone’s surprise, Ananya is the person behind the carnage. As it turns out, she is Rukmini’s granddaughter. Vikram is the last piece of the puzzle, and to his absolute shock, he sees that his mother is still alive but deeply in shock.
The last part of the ritual starts with Vikram’s blood being transferred to Yast. However, just as it seems like things are finally about to be actualised, they realise that Yast is not accepting Vikram’s blood. In abject horror, Ananya realises that Vikram’s mother’s miracle from 20 years ago is being realised after so long and that Vikram will not be sacrificed that day.
Eventually, Rea stabs Ananya just as she’s about to stab Vikram, and the ritual remains unfulfilled once again. In the last scene of Mandala Murders, we see the shadowy warrior being broken out of prison, but we aren’t shown by whom. Clearly, the story is far from over.
