MADOFF The Monster of Wall Street Trailer: Truth Behind Bernie Madoff’s Infamous Ponzi Scheme

MADOFF The Monster of Wall Street Trailer reveals the latest true-crime investigative documentary series which will be coming in next year. Categorised as a financial thriller, there will be four parts in the series and it is directed by Joe Berlinger (known for Conversations with a Killer, Crime Scene, and Brother’s Keeper).

The official synopsis of the series reads, “This docuseries follows the rise and fall of financier Bernie Madoff, who orchestrated one of the biggest Ponzi schemes in Wall Street history.” It reveals the truth behind Bernie Madoff’s infamous $64 billion-dollar global Ponzi scheme, the largest in history, that shattered the lives of countless individual investors who had placed their trust in the revered Wall Street statesman.

With unique access to whistleblowers, employees, investigators, and victims, and never-before-seen video depositions of Madoff himself, this series traces Madoff’s rise from humble beginnings to one of the most influential power brokers on Wall Street.

Through an innovative visual approach and financial thriller tone, prolific filmmaker Joe Berlinger reveals the genesis and, for the first time, the mechanics of Madoff’s fraudulent investment advisory business, uncovering how the fraud was not just the brainchild of one evil genius, as many people came to believe.

It explores the possibility that a cadre of co-conspirators and a financial system rife with institutions were willing to turn a blind eye to Madoff’s suspicious behaviour, prompting the obvious nagging question: Could such a blatant and destructive fraud happen again?

The released trailer starts off with a generic statement when talking about something popular, like you might know the surface of the story but do you really know what happened underneath? The documentary will certainly question the involvement of big personalities that were behind the billion-dollar scheme and maybe Madoff was just a scapegoat who was sacrificed.

From people who were adversely affected by the crisis to the ones that personally knew Madoff, everyone’s perspective of the man differs from true evil to just an unlucky guy stuck in something big. But hopefully, we will be able to get a clear picture behind everything that went on and the man that became everyone’s biggest enemy.
