Takashi Miike is a legendary director who has graced us with some of the most thrilling and gruesome movies that have left a deep mark on our hearts and minds. Lumberjack the Monster Plot
In this movie involving a serial killer whose murders are based on the picture book Kaibutsu no Kikor, the killer targets seemingly random people on the streets and uses an axe to murder them before taking away their brains. As gruesome as the murders are, his next target, lawyer Ninomiya Akira might prove problematic. Seemingly lacking empathy, Akira isn’t just an ordinary office worker and has a shocking secret of his own – he is also a cold-blooded psychopath. In this battle of the depraved, Akira must do everything in his power to put the puzzle pieces together before he becomes the next victim. Joining him in this chase is his fiancee Hasumi Emi and a no-nonsense profiler called Toshiro Ranko.

Based on the novel by Kurai Mayusuke, this mystery-thriller film, also known as 怪物の木こり, is written by Koiwai Hiroyoshi and directed by Takashi Miike. The cast includes Kazuya Kamenashi, Nanao, Riho Yoshioka, Reon Yuzuki, Minosuke, Keisuke Horibe, Kiyohiko Shibukawa, Shota Sometani, Shido Nakamura and others.
