Love Your Enemy Episode 8 Review: Such a Firework Worthy Episode

As Yun Jiwon grapples with lingering feelings and Seok Jiwon’s relentless charm, jealousy and secrets bubble to the surface. Ji-hye’s manipulations and Seok Jiwon’s family drama create tension, while heartfelt moments, like a nostalgic dinner date and Yun Jiwon discovering old messages, bring clarity to their complicated past. The episode ends on a hopeful note as both confront their true feelings under the lilac bush, signaling a fresh start amidst their tangled relationships.

Love Your Enemy Episode 8 Recap

The episode begins with Seok Jiwon moving out of his shared residence to a new apartment under pressure from his father Gyeong-tae. His departure stems from a desire to avoid upsetting Jae-ho, who wishes him well despite feeling disheartened. Mun-su observes that Seok Jiwon takes only one suitcase with him, compared to the two he had when he first arrived, but his remark is dismissed as unimportant. Meanwhile, Yun Jiwon and Seok Jiwon maintain a façade of cold indifference, refusing to even look at each other as he leaves.

Later that evening, Yun Jiwon skips dinner and heads out for a run, leaving Jae-ho concerned about her well-being. However, her mood shifts as she runs to meet Seok Jiwon, who is waiting for her. A flashback reveals that the two have decided to date for real this time, putting their tumultuous past behind them. They go shopping together to buy a lamp for his new apartment, enjoying lighthearted moments that remind them of their earlier days. Yun Jiwon returns home flushed and visibly happy, a stark contrast to her earlier demeanour.

The next day at school, Seok Jiwon texts Yun Jiwon, inviting her to his office for lunch, but she ignores his message. Instead, Mun-su asks Yun Jiwon out to a movie, but she suggests they grab a pork cutlet instead, knowing it’s something he’s always wanted to do with her. She plans to use the lunch to gently open up about her feelings for Seok Jiwon and help Mun-su move on. Meanwhile, Seok Jiwon, upset by Yun Jiwon’s absence, eats his sushi lunch alone. Elsewhere, Gyeong-tae summons Seok Jiwon’s assistant, Ki-ha, for a private discussion, but Ki-ha’s loyalty to Seok Jiwon keeps him from revealing anything significant.

Outside the school, Yun Jiwon begins to confess her feelings to Mun-su, starting with, “I like…” However, senior staff member Duk-soo overhears her incomplete statement and spreads a rumour that Yun Jiwon has confessed to Mun-su. The rumour quickly gains traction, leaving the entire staff convinced that the two are dating. Meanwhile, Gyeong-tae interrogates Ki-ha about Seok Jiwon’s feelings for Yun Jiwon, but Seok Jiwon’s assistant manages to deflect the questions skillfully. That evening, Gyeong-tae confronts Seok Jiwon directly, asking him if he likes Yun Jiwon. Seok Jiwon coldly dismisses his father’s meddling, declaring that his personal life is none of Gyeong-tae’s business.

At the resort, Su-a opens up to Yun Jiwon about her loneliness, while the workshop begins with the staff separating Seok Jiwon and Yun Jiwon at every opportunity. During dinner, the vice principal gets heavily drunk and drags people to sing. Mun-su starts performing a romantic song, making Yun Jiwon uncomfortable. Seok Jiwon, unable to tolerate it, grabs the mic and joins Mun-su on stage, overpowering him with his vocals and making Yun Jiwon blush. Ji-hye, observing from afar, leaves the hall for some air.

Meanwhile, Mun-su rescues Yun Jiwon from the vice principal’s drunken ramblings, and they discuss the rumour about their relationship. Mun-su ambiguously states that the rumour is “50% true,” leaving Yun Jiwon deep in thought. Elsewhere, Su-a confronts Tae-o about the woman she saw earlier, but Tae-o sternly avoids the question and politely rejects her feelings. Heartbroken, Su-a leaves his room as Tae-o reflects on her gift of chocolate.

In her room, Yun Jiwon finds herself missing Seok Jiwon terribly. Her thoughts are interrupted by the sound of pebbles hitting her window. She opens it to find Seok Jiwon waiting below, calling her to come down. She rushes to him and hugs him tightly. They retreat to his room, where he tells her it’s time. Expecting fireworks, Yun Jiwon looks out the window, only to be startled by a kiss from Seok Jiwon. The two share a tender moment as Ji-hye watches from the lobby.

Unbeknownst to them, Gyeong-tae arrives at the resort, having been updated by Kyung-hoon, who is secretly betraying Jae-ho despite the latter’s trust. Ji-hye guides Gyeong-tae to Seok Jiwon’s room, where the episode ends with Seok Jiwon opening the door, leaving viewers on edge about what lies ahead.

Love Your Enemy Episode 8 Review

This episode served us a buffet of emotions—jealousy, love, guilt, and, of course, an unhealthy obsession with matching athleisure outfits (seriously, Jae-ho joining the fashion parade was a chef’s kiss). From Seok Jiwon’s over-the-top gesture of luxury cars to Duk-soo’s relentless matchmaking for Mun-su and Yun Jiwon, it felt like a rom-com with a side of melodrama. And let’s not forget Seok Jiwon’s sushi date for one—he really proved that even the loneliest lunches can still be dramatic.

The highlight of the episode? Seok Jiwon storming the karaoke stage like a rockstar on a mission, determined to reclaim Yun Jiwon’s blushes from Mun-su’s awkward serenade. It was equal parts hilarious and heart-melting. Meanwhile, Ji-hye’s late-night confession by the sea added a layer of bittersweet nostalgia, reminding us that no love triangle is complete without at least one teary-eyed stroll. Poor Ji-hye—she’s got regrets, and now we’ve got second-hand heartbreak.

As for Yun Jiwon and Seok Jiwon’s kiss? Let’s just say their chemistry is fireworks-level, even when there aren’t any actual fireworks. From secret late-night rendezvous to jealous brooding, this episode had us swooning one minute and laughing the next. And with Gyeong-tae making a dramatic resort appearance, we’re left wondering—will this love story survive the ultimate boss-level meddling? Stay tuned for more chaos and cuteness!
