Love to Hate You Ending Explained: Why Did Yeo Mi-ran and Nam Kang-ho Break Up? Did They End Up Together?

Love to Hate You (연애대전) is the latest romantic-comedy K-drama that premiered on February 10, 2023, on Netflix. Directed by Kim Jung-kwon, the plot surrounds a woman who dislikes every man she meets and a man with deep suspicions towards women. Ultimately the cut-throat rivalry blossoms into a beautiful relationship.

Starring Kim Ok-vin as Yeo Mi-ran and Teo Yoo as Nam Kang-ho in the lead roles alongside Kim Ji-hoon as Do Won-jun, Go Won-hee as Shin Na-eun, Lee Joo-bin as Oh Se-na, Song Ji-woo as Hwang Ji-ye, Kim Sung-ryung and more. The story is written by Choi Soo-young and is produced by Binge Works. The show consists of ten episodes, each with a runtime of approximately 50-55 minutes.

Love to Hate You Ending Explained

Mi-ran and Kang-ho finally declared their love for each other and started to move ahead with their relationship, but a turbulent journey lay ahead of them. During the closing party organised by the actor, a video circulated among the guests, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere.

The news finally broke to the couple, and they discovered that the video was about Mi-ran’s past life and relationships. An anonymous person online revealed to the gossip channel that the lawyer used to visit pubs with multiple men and engage in one-night stands. This created dissent in the industry towards her as people started to tarnish Kang-ho’s name and reputation. The actor’s fans also demanded an apology and requested the artist to break up.

Did Yeo Mi-ran and Nam Kang-ho Break Up?

When things started to get rough, Mi-ran suggested that they should end the relationship. But Kang-ho opposed the decision and asked to only lie about the break-up while maintaining their relationship in secret. They started to meet up in disguises in restaurants and pubs. While they were in the karaoke bar, a couple of fans recognised them and were caught red-handed. The situation further became complicated and dangerous for the couple.

The actor held a press conference suddenly to address the issue. During his statement, he apologises to his fans for the hurt he had caused them but refuses to stop dating Mi-ran. He expresses his love for her and makes a grand marriage proposal on camera. Mi-ran also appears in the hall and declares that the couple will be parting ways. She made the firm decision to prevent Kang-ho from going through further defamation.

Did They End Up Together?

After a few days, a couple of anonymous women came together to make positive statements about Mi-ran. They revealed her good deed and how she helped countless women throughout her life from predatory males. This event spread like wildfire, and Mi-ran’s public image healed with time.

Shin Na-eun convinces Mi-ran to call Kang-ho and make things right. The couple meets and instantly patches things up. They slowly start developing their relationship, but Mi-ran refuses to get married. Do Won-jun makes a grand gesture and convinces Shin Na-eun to go out with him; they also eventually start to date each other.

Love to Hate You is now streaming on Netflix.
