Netflix’s Longest Third Date Review Contains Mild Spoilers

In March 2020, the world came to a standstill because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The unforeseen lockdown affected millions of people, their lives, and their business worldwide. All modes of transport were shut (except for emergencies). Two individuals from New York, namely Khani Le and Matt Robertson, were unaware of how drastically their life will change.

A few days before the lockdown, Khani and Matt swiped right on each other on the dating app, Hinge. They had good first two dates. For their third date, the duo decided to be adventurous and take a few days’ trip to Costa Rica. The flights were cheap; they had plans to chill, get drunk, enjoy the sea and keep it casual. Little did they know life had some other plans.

In the Longest Third Date Netflix documentary, we learn how Khani’s best friend, Liz was not supportive of the trip as she was worried Matt would murder her friend. But Khani took the risk and went ahead with Matt. But the long weekend was the longest, most unplanned, and most unpredictable holiday. Khani and Matt had no choice but to live together. They spent a few days at the hotel, then lived at an Airbnb and explored other places in Costa Rica.

Khani was not a fan of his influencer personality, but she eventually made peace with it. The duo spent 79 days together in a foreign land. But was falling in love easy for them? Well, you find out everything in the end.

The Netflix documentary Longest Third Date is a sweet watch. It doesn’t dramatise or exaggerate anything. Khani Le and Matt Robertson honestly talk about what they like and dislike about each other.
