Ever since the trailer dropped, people have been coming up with several Loki Season 2 theories. After the series’ first season managed to earn praise from audiences and critics alike, the second season is expected to be bigger and better. Like every Marvel project, the show has connections to other releases, and we have already seen one big hint that was dropped in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
In the second season of Loki, Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief will return alongside Owen Wilson’s Mobius as the duo will unravel the mysteries of the Time Variance Authority. The series will also see the return of Jonathan Majors, who is set to return as Kang the Conqueror. Not only as Kang, it is expected that the second season will also introduce several other variants of the character. In the first season, we also saw several Loki variants, including Lady Loki; there’s also a chance that more new ones may be introduced in Season 2.
Loki Season 2 Theories: 8 Variants That Might Lead to TVA Chaos
Cat Loki
After the first season saw fans going gaga over Alligator Loki, there may be another variant that may find even more fans in the new season. Fans of the comics will know that a Cat Loki also exists. Among the various animal forms that the character has taken, there is also a feline version, and while there’s no confirmation or hint about its appearance in Season 2, there have been fan theories about how it could be introduced at some point in the story knowing how it could become an instant favourite among fans.
Victor Timely

One variant of Kang that is definitely a part of the second season of the show is Victor Timely. In the post-credits scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, we already saw Loki and Mobius coming face to face with Victor. This variant of Kang resides in the early 1900s, and he poses as an inventor who time travels. Considering the appearance in Ant-Man 3, it has been speculated that this version of Kang will play a key role in the second season.
The Scarlet Centurion
Fans of Marvel comic books will recognise this variant. In the films, this version of Kang was featured as a part of the Council of Kangs in Quantumania’s post-credit scene. The Scarlet Centurion appeared to despise the rule of Immortus over the Council of Kangs. Since this variant doesn’t have a particular storyline in the books, the makers of Loki will be able to experiment and add new layers to the story.
Frost Giant Loki

Among all the Loki variants that have been teased in MCU so far, the one that sticks out is this one. It was first teased in the first season and later seen in an episode of Marvel’s What If…? It has been revealed that Frost Giant Loki was not adopted by Odin and remained with the frost giants. There is a chance that his appearance in Season 2 could promise some dark themes. There are two sides of this variant explored in MCU; the friendlier version was seen in What If…?

Nathaniel Richards
For those who are expecting to learn more about Kang and his origin story, a bit of it can be teased in the second season of Loki. Before becoming one of the deadliest time travellers, Kang’s identity was that of Nathaniel Richards, who was a scientist. As per comics, he was starting point for Kang’s conqueror version and his other variants. One thing that could happen in the second season is that Loki and Mobius could find themselves going back to trace Kang’s history and look for Richards to understand how it all began.

Agent of Asgard Loki
Among the many Loki Season 2 theories, one also suggests that the God of Mischief may look for his own variant to seek help when it comes to dealing with Kang and his variants. Among those he may turn to, there’s a chance that we get to see an undercover “Agent of Asgard” version of him. This superspy variant of Loki could either be of help or could also end up making things worse in the TVA universe. One of the key things that the show will have to explore with this variant is that Loki had transformed into a younger body in this version.
Kang, the Conquerer

One of the most important variants to the future MCU timelines, including for Loki Season 2, is this one. Kang the Conqueror’s power has also been witnessed by us all in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Jonathan Majors made sure to leave an impression with his time-travelling supervillain and will continue to do so in the MCU show as well. While he appeared to be killed at the end of Quantumania, Kang is set to return and even has an entire film lined up that will further explore the multiverse saga.
Loki Season 2 has been directed by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who have also executive-produced the show. The series’ second season is all set to release on October 6 on Disney+.
