Netflix Films Releasing in 2023
You People
Coming to Netflix on January 27, 2023, this comedy written by Jonah Hill and Kenya Barris takes an old page out of the ‘opposites attract’ book, which doesn’t necessarily fall in line with the parents’ (of the couple) clashing perception of their relationship. It stars some familiar fan-favourites like Jonah Hill, Lauren London, David Duchovny, and Nia Long with Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Eddie Murphy.
Your Place or Mine
Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher give us a taste of the 2000’s romantic-comedy fever in 2023, right before Valentine’s Day on February 10. Watch Debbie and Peter’s friendship take a new turn as some epiphanies along the way channel our nostalgic love for the feel good genre.
Luther: The Fallen Sun
Idris Elba dons the titular detective’s coat on March 10. While stuck behind the bars of a penitentiary, a new serial killer on the loose haunts Luther’s psyche, pushing him to break out of the place to do what he knows best.
Murder Mystery 2
If you’ve watched the unlikely, chaotic and beloved collaboration of Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler in the first instalment of Murder Mystery, chances are you’ve been waiting a long time to see them together again on your screens. Your wish is being granted on March 31, when the hilariously charming duo strikes back with yet another riotous mystery to solve.

The Mother
Jennifer Lopez has been coming out with quite a few movies in the recent timeline, thus reviving her acting career, and in turn blessing her fans in the long run. On May 12, she comes back as The Mother, also an assassin, out for vengeance, who will go to any lengths necessary to keep her child safe.
Extraction 2
The fearless mercenary Tyler Rake is coming out of retirement on June 16 for yet another fast-paced action flick that’ll push you to the edge of your seat. Headlined by Chris Hemsworth, the next chapter in the Extraction series is directed by Sam Hargrave and produced by the ‘Avenging’ duo of Joe and Anthony Russo.
They Cloned Tyrone
The unexpected trio of John Boyega, Teyonah Parris and Jamie Foxx sets out on July 21 to unfold the eerie events of the upcoming mystery caper which will unveil a shady and jaw-dropping government experiment.
Heart of Stone
Gal Gadot, Jamie Dornan, and Alia Bhat jump into their latest spy action thriller on August 11, 2023, on Netflix. The movie has been directed by Tom Harper, but the plot is still a big mystery to us all. Watch the truth explode on the D-day.
Lift
Remember Suicide Squad? Lift starring Kevin Hart, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sam Worthington, Vincent D’Onofrio and more, and directed by F. Gary Gray will need you to buckle up on August 25, as the heist crew is heading out on a mission to prevent a terrorist attack, with their ulterior motives intact of course.

Damsel
Millie Bobby Brown refuses to be a Damsel in distress and she’s coming back to prove herself, but this time alongside Angela Bassett, Robin Wright, Ray Winstone, Nick Robinson, Brooke Carter and Shohreh Aghdashloo on October 13. With Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s direction, the film will unpack a series of betrayals, compelling Brown to fight for her survival against a fire-breathing dragon, and other underlying nefarious politics of the royal family.

Pain Hustlers
Directed by David Yates, Pain Hustlers is coming to Netflix on October 27. It’s based on the New York Times Magazine article of the same name by Evan Hughes (dated May 2, 2018) and his novel The Hard Sell. The conspiratorial drama stars Emily Blunt, Chris Evans, Andy Garcia and others.

The Killer
What do you get when the greats like Michael Fassbender, Tilda Swinton and director David Fincher put their minds together? You get The Killer on November 10. Based on the French graphic novel of the same name by Alexis Nolent (Matz), the film is set to adapt some portions of the same for our screens.
Netflix explains the plot of the film as: “A man solitary and cold, methodical and unencumbered by scruples or regrets, the killer waits in the shadows, watching for his next target. And yet the longer he waits, the more he thinks he’s losing his mind, if not his cool. A brutal, bloody and stylish noir story of a professional assassin lost in a world without a moral compass, this is a case study of a man alone, armed to the teeth and slowly losing his mind.”

A Family Affair
It’s going to a big Family Affair when Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron and Joey King unite for their Netflix project on November 17. Directed by Oscar nominee Richard LaGravenese, this is set to be yet another romantic-comedy premiere which will entangle the lives of a young woman, her mother and her narcissistic movie star boss.

Leo
Yes, you guessed it right! Adam Sandler is the titular lizard in this animated musical dropping on Netflix on November 22. Leading his life as a class pet, Leo is going to let us take a look at the last year of elementary school, but through his own point of view.

Leave The World Behind
Based on the novel by Rumaan Alam, Leave the World Behind is going to be a psychological thriller premiering on December 8. Directed by Sam Esmail, this film will be led by Oscar winners Julia Roberts and Mahershala Ali, alongside Ethan Hawke, Myha’la Herrold and others.

Rebel Moon
Charting on a new space fantasy epic, Zack Snyder is sharing yet another majestic piece of his mind on December 22 in the form of Rebel Moon inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai. Starring a stellar cast panel including ofia Boutella, Djimon Hounsou, Ed Skrein, Michiel Huisman, Bae Doona, Ray Fisher, Charlie Hunnam and Anthony Hopkins alongside others, the film portrays the tyranny of Regent Balisarius, countered by an inconspicuous woman, Kora, who pursues a nearly impossible path of raising a galactic resistance against the oppressor.
