She gets a call from Jung-ho, who reaches their home and asks them whether she was the one who killed Jin-geun. Meanwhile, Da-hyun breaks up with Gye-hoon over her guilt of leaving his sister behind. As he tries to process the information, he also gets to know that Jin-geun has died and that they found his body in the refrigerator.

As everyone starts to throw accusations around about who could’ve killed Jin-geun, the police get to work with identifying suspects. Meanwhile, Da-hyun and Gye-hoon wonder what to do with the recent developments since he will definitely be a suspect and the person who killed Jin-geun is most probably the one who abducted her and Gye-young.

It’s a tragic and surreal situation for our protagonists who try to come to terms with this tragic turn of events. Things at the restaurant are also quite grim as all four of them throw themselves into work to keep their minds off things. As a result, they prepare a five-star meal to celebrate Jin-geun’s demise… or maybe to just forget what’s right under their noses.

While Lee Young-hun stalks around the neighbourhood, Gye-hoon has a mini meltdown thinking about all the chances he had to catch the real culprit but failed anyway. Eun-jung cries at home now that her sister’s killer is no more while Da-hyun worries for her.

While changing his car’s number plate, Young-hun thinks back to what Jin-geun had told him right before he killed him – Da-hyun has almost remembered who abducted her and thus, he is in for a whole lot of trouble hereafter. Young-hun, however, isn’t really tensed about it and promises to reunite him with his lover soon.

That night, Gye-hoon asks Da-hyun to meet him at the restaurant to resolve something and just as she gets there, Gye-hoon lets her know that he isn’t going to break up with her. After some back and forth, Gye-hoon explains why the relationship means so much to him and implores her to not abandon him.

He assures her that he wouldn’t feel tormented seeing her every day, and she tells him that she doesn’t want to break up with him either. AS their relationship is saved thanks to good communication, Gye-hoon hugs his girlfriend, and everything seems to be ok for the time being.

The next morning, a nightmare reminds Da-hyun that Gye-young definitely told her something the night that they escaped, and Chun-ok can’t help but be scared for their family’s safety.

Meanwhile, a fight breaks out between Won-tak and Young-hwan as the latter harasses Eui-chan again. Unable to take the harassment against his father and with guilt bubbling up, Won-tak beats Young-hwan badly as Eui-chan looks on helplessly. Gye-hoon gets there just as the police take Won-tak and Young-hwan away, and Min-jo can’t help but be absolutely appalled by Won-tak’s behaviour.

Gye-hoon gets into a conversation with Young-hwan after the latter tries to act tough with a possible concussion, but it brings back bad memories from the past that he’d rather not remember. When Gye-hoon mentions that he had got the wrong guy all those years ago, there’s a sense of guilt and disbelief in his eyes.

That night, Young-hwan starts to spew the same old nonsense and casts doubt on Gye-hoon and Da-hyun without any evidence. This time around, however, Jung-ho stops him from doing the same mistake and warns the others not to repeat the same mistake that they did 18 years ago.

After going home, it is revealed that the only person who had an air-tight alibi wasn’t where he was all those years ago – Dong-nam had been lying for so many years. Dong-sook promises to help him regardless of what happened in the past, and he mentions that his only worry, his biggest fear, is right there in their house.

Meanwhile, Da-hyun continues to wonder what happened that night 18 years ago and what Gye-young might have told her that he can’t remember. In between, Bok-hee asks her to join her for a drink, wherein she learns from her mother the truth about that night.

18 years ago, an overworked Bok-hee didn’t realise that her daughter was missing hours after Da-hyun was kidnapped. After searching for hours and realising that Gye-young was nowhere to be found as well, her mother found her in an alley, unconscious. Some random man was trying to take her with him, but Bok-hee got there just in time, followed closely by Jung-ho and Chun-ok.

Now, this mystery man wasn’t Young-hun but whoever it was, tried to kill Jung-ho and in turn, Bok-hee murdered that guy to save her friend. As Da-hyun processes this information, she remembers what Gye-young had told her – that there were more than two people who were in on the kidnapping.

Gye-young, meanwhile, alone and hurt, was found by Dong-nam who, drunk and annoyed, refused to help him. Racked with guilt, he still sees her following him around. Meanwhile, Da-hyun, heavy with the information that she just heard, takes a walk alone to process everything. On her way, alone in a dark road, she comes face to face with Young-hun and immediately drowns in fear – a feeling that springs Gye-hoon into action.

Still From Link: Eat Love Kill Episode 13

I have feelings about giving away the antagonist 4 episodes early but Link: Eat Love Kill episode 13 holds on to our curiosity very well with the things that it doesn’t tell us. Why were these two men abducting these two girls? Why them? Why not someone else? Is there something more to this? Also, why is Da-hyun able to feel Gye-hoon’s feelings? We thankfully have enough episodes to learn the truth, but here’s to hoping that it’ll be something worthwhile.

Coming to this episode, Bok-hee’s confession is the most interesting part of Link: Eat Love Kill episode 13. Otherwise, it’s a rather mellow episode with everyone feeling some sort of way about Jin-geun’s death and Young-hwan being an arse.

Bok-hee’s confession is heartbreaking and infuriating in good measure. You understand the young, helpless mother’s desperation as she juggles to make ends meet and take care of her child. On the other hand, you’re overwhelmed by rage surrounding her not having any idea about her daughter for over a day.

Da-hyun’s reaction is quite apt as she understands her mother, but it is all too much. Plus, the added bonus of murder is a complicated emotion to deal with as things start to make sense for our protagonist. It’s a complicated relationship between Da-hyun and Bok-hee, and this is definitely not going to help. Will the mother-daughter duo come out of this somewhat unscathed?

On the other hand, I hope Dong-nam’s storyline goes somewhere, at least. They are really taking the fact home that he didn’t do anything for a helpless child who is clearly in distress. Did he hand Gye-young over to Young-hun himself? Did he leave her there? We don’t know yet, but there’s a possibility for this to go down well.

Lastly, the romance aspect has taken a sharp backseat, which makes sense considering the circumstances. However, I like how maturely Gye-hoon handles the stupid breakup but as more and more things come to light, it’ll be interesting to watch how Da-hyun and Gye-hoon handle these very heavy and traumatic things and whether their relationship survives these setbacks.

Personally, I don’t feel like it’s either of their faults in any which way. Both of them were too young to take care of anyone but themselves, and considering the circumstances, they did the best that they could. Of course, it goes without saying that feelings don’t work according to logic, and thus, it’s going to be quite difficult to gauge how they will come out of this trauma.

The romantic in me hopes for the best, but at this point, it can go either way.
