More Good News for Lee Jun-ho Fans! ‘King the Land’ Star is Now In Talks to Join a New Netflix Series; Deets Inside

Loving Lee Jun-ho in his latest JTBC King the Land series? Well, you have all the more reason to rejoice in this happy news then. The South Korean actor and singer, also a member of the JYP Entertainment boy group 2PM, is now set to star in a new K-drama series (at least we’re counting on these rumours to be true).

South Korean media outlets have started spreading the word around Junho possibly starring in a forthcoming Netflix series titled Cashero (working title). On July 13, 2023, an official from 2PM’s entertainment label reported that the Cold Eyes actor is in talks to lead another series following his King the Land feature.

Although the negotiations are still ongoing, and nothing has been confirmed yet, the series is said to be based on a webtoon that will be centred around a group of new-age ordinary heroes who protect the common city-folk. 2PM Junho has been offered the role of the character named Kang Sang-woong, whose superhero alias is same as the working title of the show. His superpowers correspond to the said name as the more cash he has, the more his physical abilities getting enhanced.

As far as his previous accolades go, he starred alongside Namkoong Min in the 2017 comedy-drama series The Good Manager, and particularly gained a lot of recognition for his acting after this project. It was with yet another JTBC drama series titled Rain or Shine that he landed his first lead role. At the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards, he became the first K-pop idol to win the grand trophy for the Best Actor – Television category. Other than that, his acting chops have also granted him the Daesang (Grand Prize) at the 2022 Asia Artist Award.

At the moment, his weekly features as Goo Won, the head general manger of King Hotel, on JTBC’s romantic comedy with Im Yoon-ah aka Girls’ Generation’s Yoona, are winning the general public’s heart and attention. His onscreen chemistry with his co-star has taken the viewers on a ride back to the old school rom-com storylines. Despite its cliche approach, the pair’s palpable camaraderie has won hearts aplenty.

Catch Lee Jun-ho in His Ongoing King the Land Series

Presently, the artist’s ongoing Korean drama airing on JTBC at 10:30PM KST, and streaming on Netflix every Saturday and Sunday, has already concluded half-way. King the Land has a total of 16 episodes in its season and Episode 8 released just this past weekend.
