Lazarus Episode 11 Recap

Lazarus Episode 12 Review
Lazarus Episode 12: Still

This episode kicks off with Doug and Eleina arriving in Pakistan, while back at headquarters, Leyland and Christine uncover that a specialized aircraft has also been dispatched in the same direction, clearly tracking Doug and Eleina’s movements. The Lazarus team begins to suspect that the government and Spinner might be involved in a larger conspiracy. Meanwhile, the Phantom Killer targets Axel in a high-stakes highway ambush. Wasting no time, he leaps onto Axel’s car and opens fire, pushing Axel into a desperate fight for survival. Though Axel narrowly escapes death, the Phantom Killer’s relentless assault and combat prowess clearly show that he is a formidable match for Axel.

What follows is a gripping, visually intense battle filled with expert choreography as the Phantom Killer unleashes both firepower and explosives to throw Axel into chaos. The stakes rise further when it’s revealed that INSCOM has been conducting illegal drug experiments on death row inmates like Axel, explaining why he’s become a target.

Back in Pakistan, Doug decides to confront their pursuers to give Eleina a chance to pursue her mission. Although he sustains injuries during the clash, Eleina ultimately succeeds in tracking down the hacker they were after.

The centrepiece of the episode remains Axel’s intense showdown with the Phantom Killer, which takes a surprisingly emotional turn when Axel’s presence triggers memories in his assailant, hinting at a deeper psychological link between them.

Eleina wakes up at Popcorn Wizard’s place, and she takes care of Eleina the entire time. She even tells her real name, Lin, to her new friend. Here, we also get to know that Doug is still alive, but he has been injured and is hospitalised, while officials are keeping him under tight watch. On the other hand, Hersch is being held in INSCOM, and Abel asks his colleague to investigate the Phantom Assassin.

Thankfully, later, Axel wakes up and even thanks Christine for saving him. Apparently, his assassin has already escaped, and Axel becomes much more determined to protect the witness because his assailants can also try to erase the main proof of human experiments. Later, we see the story of Lin, who reveals that she used to be a resident of the islands where many of the people could not feel any pain, which we got to know in one of the later episodes.

When researchers came to study the genetic traits of these people, Skinner was in the team as well. He knew that the island was sinking, and to help the people out, he bought the entire island. The people there were able to relocate somewhere else because of him. This is precisely why Lin is willing to do anything for Skinner, even if it costs her life.

In this episode, we also learn that there is a mystery surrounding a project about Arizona that can also get leaked with the location of Skinner. On top of that, almost every department is in utter chaos because there’s only one day left till Skinner’s announcement. Towards the end, we finally discover where Skinner is actually hiding, but we are yet to understand why he is doing what he set out to do.

Verdict

Lazarus Episode 12 Review
Lazarus Episode 12: Still

This was another very aimless episode that did not offer a proper direction. Now that we are so close to the end, I do not have hope for this franchise to get better. I just want to end this series as soon as possible.
