Law and the City Kdrama: Plot

The series follows five associate lawyers, Ahn Joo-hyung, Kang Hee-ji, Jo Chang-won, Bae Moon-jung, and Kang Sang-ki, who work together at the Johwa Law Firm in Seocho Judicial Town.

Ahn Joo-hyung is a seasoned lawyer who loves the thrill of a case but doesn’t understand that there’s more to being a lawyer than just the logic behind it – he is a champion for justice. Kang Hee-ji, a junior lawyer at the firm, loves her job and is a social butterfly and loves helping people. Jo Chang‑won is the talkative spirit of the group and keeps everyone together. Eight-year associate Bae Moon‑jung is competitive but caring, and Kang Sang‑ki is the introverted realist who manages the group’s blog.

All five of them have their lunch break together, which forms a big part of the series, along with the different cases that come their way, that change the way that they live and know about themselves and their own lives.

The trailer looks promising and showcases the deep-seated bond between the actors, which translates on-screen. The tight-knit group dynamic might just bring us all to fall in love with these people, and their bond underscores the show’s core theme of friendship and empathy in a high-stress profession. Also, the fact that it’s a legal drama and not a courtroom thriller will make this more of an easy watch rather than a nail-biter, which will be interesting to watch.
