1. TWICE JIHYO Killin Me Good MV

Park Ji-hyo, popularly known as TWICE’s Jihyo has finally blessed us all with her glorious solo debut EP ZONE, released through JYP Entertainment and Republic Records. Consisting of seven tracks, her first mini album was led by the single Killin Me Good written by JY Park. Jihyo has even contributed to the lyrics-writing process of all the other six tracks – Talkin’ About It ft 24kGoldn, Closer, Wishing on You, Don’t Wanna Go Back (duet with Heize), Room and Nightmare.

Being the second TWICE member to have debuted solo after Nayeon, Jihyo particullarly shines bright in the lead single’s video, which navigates the sweet beginnings of a relationship, eventually breaking up on a bitter note. The Melanie Fontana, Lindgren and Marcus Lomax track composition takes new heights owing to Jihyo’s unique deep voice. The up-tempo R&B track is an instant groovy hit that will get you to jump on the bandwagon and appreciate the singer as a soloist, who again wins our heart with the chic choreography bits that arre threaded in as attractive interruptions to the storyline running through the same video.

2. aespa Better Things MV

The SM Entertainment and Warner Records track has allowed the 4h Gen girl group to chart on a new journey by working on their first original English single. Leading with its minimalist soundscape, this song is significantly different from the group’s previously released heavy-bass Korean tracks. With an up-tempo summery harmony, its mystical video adds the classic touch of the aespa members’ colours and long-running other-worldly videography themes. This is the group’s second musical premiere this year, following their third mini-album My World.

After listening to this track, you’ll be surely hooked on to the chorus hook and find yourself humming “I got better things to do with my time”, as the SM girls turn your attention to more valuable things in life.

3. EVERGLOW Slay MV

Looking like main characters of a futuristic dystopian movie, the EVERGLOW members (에버글로) “Slay” hard, and lead with their rebellious energy in the title track of their fourth single album All My Girls. Following a hiatus that extended for more than a year, making FOREVERs (fandom name) wait forever, E:U, Sihyeon, Mia, Onda, Aisha, and Yiren, have returned with a power-packed performance-driven leading single that is bound to fare well at their future concerts or other stage performances. Though the song majorly falls into the mainstream bucket owing to its musical scape, EVERGLOW makes sure to ascribe it with their signature identity one way or another.

4. PRIMROSE Laffy Taffy MV

Sporting eye-catching part athleisure outfits in some sequences of the Laffy Taffy MV having a basketball court as one of its prime locations in focus. As the leading track of the AO Entertainment group’s second mini-album of the same name, their latest MV emerges as a classic pop-sounding song that doesn’t need any grand interventions for it to be a memorable tune.

PRIMROSE (프림로즈)’s song/album title refers to the American brand of taffy candies, and much like a fusion of sweet and sour flavours of a candy, the track’s melody also resembles a similar quality and taste, but musically. The group now consists of four members – Rainie, Nahyun, Hayun, and Ruby – and this is their first comeback as a quartet following Yeum’s exit in March.

5. FIFTY FIFTY Cupid ft Sabrina Carpenter

Following the massive debut hit that was the song Cupid, owing to its growing reputation on TikTok, a new remixed version of the lovely breakout K-pop song has been released by the FIFTY FIFTY members in collaboration with the much-loved American pop singer Sabrina Carpenter. The song was released through Warner Music Korea, and the group was also recently featured on the acclaimed Barbie Soundtrack album with their song Barbie Dreams, featuring Kaliii.
