Komi Can’t Communicate Episode 10 Review: We Are All Rooting For You!
It is getting harder and harder to talk about episodes of Komi-san. For most shows, that’d be a bad thing as that would indicate there being nothing special and eventful happening. That is not the case for Komi Can’t Communicate, however. Here, the issue is that the show is too consistent with the content it provides and the themes that it covers. That’s not to say that once you’ve seen one episode, you’ve seen all of them. It implies that you know exactly what you’re getting into when you watch an episode of Komi.
You know that the show is going to cover at least one tried and tested trope of slice of life animation in each episode. A bunch of new characters will be introduced, and they will have the exact attributes that their names imply. Komi will somehow come out on top, either through her own talent or because everyone gave up to see her win. But most of all, you know that you’re going to enjoy the episode a whole lot.
Komi san Episode 10 was all about the school sports festival. There was the good old scavenger hunt, the hurdle race, musical chairs, and the most common of them all, the relay race. Seeing Komi and Tadano’s performances at the festival was adorable because of how the show handled them. It was also nice seeing the entire class featured for once and not just the characters we’ve already come to know very well.
The new characters introduced in Komi Episode 10 were also wonderful. The fiery and competitive Netsuno was a great foil to the entire class, although them being inundated by Komi was good enough for that. The real highlight was the cheery and helpful Onemine, who, like her name, embodies the spirit of an older sister and is an immensely positive influence on everyone. Since the show is how it is, you can be sure that she will stay that way and isn’t secretly a bad person behind the scenes. The world needs more good people,
The show is very slowly, steadily, and carefully introducing romantic elements to Komi and Tadano’s relationship. While it not being too vague and subtle about it is great, things seem like they have been stuck in the same exact spot for quite a while now and needs a change of pace. The animation and music look and sound as good as ever, and the show continues to deliver some fantastic content week after week.
Komi Can’t Communicate Episode 10 was another great episode in a series that has yet to have a bad one. It was fun and sweet, with many slice of life tropes sprinkled in between.
