King of Kotha is Dulquer Salmaan’s highly anticipated Malayalam movie that will be released in theatres soon. Since the actor is one of the most popular faces in the Malayalam film industry, the film is expected to enjoy a massive audience. The film has reportedly been shot on a massive budget and hence audience has been excited to see the scale of the film.
The theatrical release comes after Salmaan was recently seen in the big OTT release, Netflix’s Guns and Gulaabs. The film boasts of a stellar cast and apart from starring Dulquer in lead, it also has Prasanna and Shabeer Kalarakkal playing crucial roles. Other popular cast members in the film include Gokul Suresh, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Nyla Usha, Chemban Vinod Jose, Shanthi Krishna, Shammi Thilakan, TG Ravi, Anikha Surendran and Sudhi Koppa. There have also been reports about a surprise cameo in the film from a major superstar.
King of Kotha Plot
The film is set to be an action entertainer and it revolves around a gangster named Raju. The story will follow his rise and fall and also has a revenge angle to it. To take down Kannan bhai (Kallarakkal) and his gang who are the reigning powers in a crime-infested town, Inspector Shahul (Prasanna) cleverly plots the return of the ‘King’ aka Kotha Rajendran alias “Raju” (Salmaan) which leads to a massive turn of events and power clashes.
King of Kotha Release Date and Trailer
The film directed by Abhilash Joshiy and written by Abhilash N Chandran is slated to release in theatres across India on August 24. Apart from Malayalam, the movie will also be released in theatres in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages. A trailer of the film was released earlier this month and it was enough get viewers excited about it considering how action-packed it was. The promo turned out to be a visual experience as it showcased the perilous race for the throne between gangsters. Fans were particularly impressed to see Dulquer portraying a formidable character like this one.
Ahead of its release, the movie also became the first Malayalam film to have its trailer played at New York City’s Times Square.
