Kathal Trailer: Pursuit for a Fruit Takes Unexpected Turns in Upcoming Comedy Film

The trailer for the upcoming comedy film Kathal is here with a message for all as the cast takes us on a hilarious journey in pursuit of fruit. Directed by Yashowardhan Mishra, the movie stars Sanya Malhotra, Rajpal Yadav, Anant V Joshi, Vijay Raaz, Brijendra Kala, and Neha Saraf alongside other cast members.

Netflix’s synopsis of Kathal reads: “When two prized jackfruit disappears from a politician’s garden, a spirited cop’s investigation takes an unexpected turn as she digs for the truth.”

The trailer begins with reporter Vicky (Rajpal Yadav) trying to sneak into the house of the MLA (Vijay Raaz) to find out what is happening that has got the police crowd there early in the day. While Mahima (Sanya Malhotra) drives him away, the scene changes to earlier when the police were called to the house.

Based on true events, the trailer brings a comic case of two jackfruits weighing 15 kgs each being stolen from the house of a politician which becomes a big deal because it took place at the politician’s house. As the young cop Mahima is given the task to find the missing jackfruits, she begins to get a deeper understanding of how a case such as this holds more importance for people.

As Mahima looks deeper into the case she has been forced to take up, she finds something hidden beneath that changes her attitude towards the case.

The priority given to this case by the media and police is hilarious and a staggering reality because of how priority is based on the position of a person in society and the entertainment people derive from them. The plot also brings us a look into how women face challenges in what they want to do in life, and proving their capability isn’t always enough for them.

The film is one that has more than one element and will bring you hearty laughter with the plot that comes with a cast that has been put together for this project. So look forward to the film that is soon to release and share the experience with your family and friends.

Kathal is set to release on May 19, 2023, and will be available for streaming on Netflix.
