Kaguya sama Love is War Season 3 or Kaguya sama wa Kokurasetai Season 3 in original Japanese (stylized as Kaguya-sama Love is War Season 3 and Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai Season 3) is a romance, comedy, and psychological warfare (yes, really) anime based on the manga of the same name written by Aka Akasaka. Seasons 1 and 2 of the show aired in 2019 and 2020, respectively, and this series serves as a direct sequel to them.

The anime is developed by A-1 Pictures, who have been responsible for some of the most highly acclaimed shows in these times, including 86 and Erased, alongside both the previous seasons of Kaguya-sama. Shinichi Omata is directing this season, and he was also responsible for directing both the previous seasons of the show. Kaguya-sama Love is War Season 3 Episode 12 Review- A Foregone Conclusion

Miyuki Shirogane Kaguya Sama Love Is War Season 3 Episode 12

Everything that the show had accomplished and built up until this point was all for this particular moment in time, where everything comes together in a fantastic display of the show’s writing acumen. A lot went on in this episode due to it being a double broadcast, but thankfully, the writers made sure not to do anything in the first episode to ensure that the public didn’t care about that one too much. The real quality was in the second half, or what some people and websites have dubbed Kaguya Sama Love Is War Season 3 Episode 13.

Since the beginning of the show, it has been Kaguya trying different ways to make Miyuki confess his feelings for her before she has to deal with having fallen for him. Miyuki very rarely went on the offence, mostly because he considered himself to be lower in stature than Kaguya and didn’t feel like he had earned the privilege of approaching her like a love interest instead of the President of the council. We saw him gain courage and relive the moments without Kaguya in this season a whole bunch, all of which led us here, his biggest effort in this show to date.

The meticulously maintained and curated school festival served more than one purpose as the main link that connected all the scattered plotlines. It also served as the background of Miyuki’s grand scheme, which took more planning and know-how than all of Kaguya’s schemes that came before this one. It leads to a final confrontation between the two at a picturesque location, and the ending of this season was as satisfying as you can make it without going way over the top.

The conclusion was everything we expected or wanted from the show, packed in a delightful setting and surrounded by the great characters for which the show is famous. Even though some shoddier production and animation threatened to ruin the immaculate vibe that this episode had, it still looked great in the grand scheme of things. However, the spotlight shined the brightest on Miyuki, whom this season was focused on instead of Kaguya. His arc had some great character realizations (not growth because he didn’t change much) and some fantastic moments.

The show ended at a point where the story can easily continue if there is a demand, but it was a highly satisfying conclusion that still works perfectly without a sequel. While no one other than Miyuki, Kaguya, and Hayasaka had big roles to play, the other characters still added their charm from the sides. The final episode of this season of Kaguya sama was a terrific one that brought all the plotlines together for one final bang to go out with. It was a great package that did almost everything right, and let’s hope we haven’t seen the last of this show.

Verdict

Kaguya Sama Love Is War Season 3 Episode 12 was a phenomenal ending that capped off another season of this show with a lot of style and grace. It is hard to imagine a better ending for this show.
