Joker is back for its second film and it has been making the waves even before the shooting started. Apparently, it has been reported that Lady Gaga is in talks with its creators to play the role of Harley Quinn in Joker 2. Director Todd Phillips posted to Instagram last week, that the sequel to 2019’s Joker is moving forward which included the cover of the script. The screenplay is written by Phillips and Scott Silver, his collaborator on the first film and the title of the film will be – Joker: Folie à Deux.
But that’s not the only reason for it to trend on Twitter since then. The reason is that the film is going to be a musical sequel instead of a feature film like the first one. Variety in their article reported that – “The subtitle, Folie à Deux, refers to a shared delusional disorder, and Joker’s only real companion — other than Batman, anyway — has been Quinn, a character first created for Batman: The Animated Series in the early 1990s”.
Making the sequel a musical could be seen as a bold move by the director Todd Phillips as the first film was a big box office hit and also won 2 Oscars for it. The news of Lady Gaga also joining the cast is surprising but if the film is set to be a musical then she would make a perfect cast for the film. Since nothing has been confirmed by the creators or the singer so we don’t know many details about it.

But considering Gaga’s singing prowess and talent, fans are waiting for the singer-turned-actor to maybe contribute to the song production in the musical film.
