Ishq Next Door Episode 10 Recap
The episode starts with Ashwin at his NGO looking at a small kid wooing a girl. Ashwin then reminisces his past and the viewers are provided with a flashback. Chuttan passes his exam and happily asks Dev for Rs.1000 but since he is on the verge of losing his job, he cuts down on it. Right then, Meher visits and the couple have a private talk.
Meher apologises to Dev for raging at him last night instead of confronting Ashwin. They both compromise and have a romantic moment. When Meher leaves she feels guilt-ridden as she failed to tell him about her college admission. Back at home, Meher confirms the college admission and reverts a mail. Meher remembers how Ashwin ended their relationship when he left for Jordan. The thought of breaking up with Dev shatters her.
Meher calls Dev to a regular spot and he arrives in an auto. Previously, Dev sells his scooter as he is low on funds. Meher requests Dev to use her savings but the latter declines. At their regular food spot, Meher struggles to open up about her college admission as the cook keeps interrupting their conversation. Finally, Meher states that she got into the Italy School of Fashion and will be moving soon. When Dev hears it, his world stops.

After a moment, he asks her when she will be leaving and she replies with a date. Dev says that it is on this day his bank inquiry would take place. Dev congratulates Meher and avoids looking at her. When they return, Dev confronts and tells her that it’s hard for him to end things with someone he just started with. Meher asks Dev whether they’re breaking up and Dev’s silence gives her an answer. They both bid farewell.
On the other hand, Chuttan finds that Tanya had to drop out of college due to some reasons. Chuttan meets her at the terrace and cheers her up by telling her that the sky will melt if she keeps looking at it with sad eyes. After this, Tanya puts her hand on Chuttan’s but the latter smiles at her and walks away. On asking about his actions, Chuttan gives the perfect comeback and says the exact line she told him when he failed his exams.
The day comes and Meher packs her stuff to leave. Her father who has always been the bad guy to her finally understands her dreams and supports her. Meher has an emotional moment with her father and her family before leaving for the airport. Dev, on the other side, gets stuck in the inquiry and the officers decide to terminate his job. Ashwin barges inside the office and provides documents to show Dev’s genuineness. But the bank officers do not buy it and simply fire Dev.

Ashwin apologises to Dev and they both sort it out. Ashwin then advices Dev to pursue Meher because as per his experience, love will make one crazy if they don’t risk it all. Dev asks Ashwin to give him a ride to meet Meher. Meher stops mid-way and waits for Dev. When Dev arrives, he requests Ashwin’s ring and proposes to Meher.
The two share a kiss and Ashwin pleads with them to not do it in front of him. Meher asks for Ashwin’s bike keys and leaves with Dev to the airport on Ashwin’s bike. Ashwin walks down the road looking at the bracelet he bought for Meher. He throws it down as a sign of his love’s end.
We’re then back to the opening scene where Ashwin is at his NGO. He has a conversation with the small boy and begins to tell his love story at the Raja Vihar colony. The series ends with that.

Ishq Next Door Episode 10 Review
The series is finally over with a happy ending. One might have thought that or wished that Ashwin could have had an ending with Ruchi or another girl but truth be told, him at the NGO that he dreamed for is the best wrap one could ask for. He successfully started his charity mission and will be saving a lot of lives. Sooner or later, sparks will fly for him once again. It is through this ending, the second lead syndrome actually starts for quite a few viewers (it did for me).
Dev and Meher’s story isn’t complete because although they decided to give each other a shot, it’s not certain that their long-distance relationship will work out. But anyhow, the Dev-Meher shippers got a happy ending so that’s a win. They also got a kiss scene which isn’t a surprise but still.

Coming to the character of Chuttan, I always felt that this character is one of the best in the series. Despite being a supporting actor, Purav Jha outshined the rest with his natural wit. If this man gets to act as the lead in a comedy series, it’ll be a hit.
Ishq Next Door is a great entertaining series with relatable aspects. Overall with the cast and the team, the director didn’t disappoint. If you’ve watched the series, let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
