Infiesto Plot/Synopsis
The official synopsis of the film reads, “As the coronavirus upends their lives, two detectives doggedly pursue those responsible for an abduction they realize is part of a sinister pattern.” Set in March 2020, on the first day of the state of emergency, two detectives are called to a small mining town in the Asturian lowlands where a young woman has appeared that had been missing for years.
While the world is falling apart and personal tragedy strikes all around, the detectives soon notice that the virus might not be the only dark force at work. The trailer starts off with an interrogation of a supposed criminal whose erratic behaviour indicates, there might be much more behind the surface that needs to be uncovered. Taking the cover of the pandemic he says that it’s the end of the world.
Soon we get to know that a girl named Saioa Blanco was missing for the past months, to the point where everyone thought she was dead. The two detectives who are assigned to her case go to tell her mom about her whereabouts and we see a disgruntled girl running out from the wood – discovered by a local.
Her physical state indicates that she had been held captive all this time, but who did this and where was she – is yet to be found out. Due to the shock, the girl doesn’t say anything and the two detectives have to investigate the case without any leading clues. But slowly they find themselves at the doorstep of the man who was being interrogated. While the fear of other girls like her getting abducted looms, they have to move fast before things take a dark turn and unveil what sinister things the person might be hiding.
