I Love You Ending Explained: JioCinema’s latest release is a romantic thriller that has got us biting our nails and seating on the edge, waiting to see how survives till the end. The film unfolds over the course of a single night, in a building, making it also a survival thriller.
I Love You is directed by Nikhil Mahajan. It is Mahajan’s Hindi film debut after his massive success in the Marathi film industry. The film is co-produced by Athena and The Vermillion World Production and, presented by Jio Studios. The film’s cast includes Rakul Preet Singh as Satya and Pavail Gulati as Rakesh Oberoi aka ‘RO’ in the leading roles. The other cast members are Akshay Oberoi and Kiran Kumar. The runtime of the film is 1 hour and 33 minutes.
Almost an ode to the classic SRK film Darr, I Love You is the story of Satya, a young, independent corporate woman. She is steady in her life and, just has been proposed to. The cherry on top is that she has someone in the office to share her happiness with- RO, her close friend and co-worker. However, right the day after Satya’s proposal, a fateful night descends on her when she realizes RO might not be her friend after all.

Over the course of the film (and, the night), Satya gets to know that RO is a stalker, obsessed with her. He is in love with her and has tried every way to incorporate him into her life and become her friend. He loves her and, his end goal is to have her at any cost, even if it means killing people (which he does in abundance throughout the film).

Satya is a clever girl and understands the kind of effect she has on him, using it to her benefit. She plays along in RO’s murderous plan and, almost makes him believe that she loves him too before seriously attacking him and injuring him physically. Soon a cat-and-mouse chase begins between Satya and RO.
The chase comes to an end when Satya gains the upper hand. In the tech room, which doubled as RO’s cabin as well as the place where he initially locked Satya in a glass cabinet, Satya and RO engage in a fight that leaves them both bleeding. When RO chokes her neck, Satya kicks RO’s balls to disengage him. She then bashes his head against the glass door of the computers and, finally manages to put him in the glass cabinet where she was first locked.
She expresses her anger and, how RO should not expect her to love him back just because he loves her. RO is awake and, when Satya walks away he threatens to visit her house and tells her the address to her family home. Satya has a change of heart at this moment and puts an electric wire in RO’s cabinet and agitates the smoke alarm to ring, ensuring the man ends up dead. She walks away with Anjali, the goldfish that Satya had kept in memory of his ex but, which symbolized prison in his hands and, freedom in hers.
