The Clearing Episode 8 Ending Explained: The finale for the show has dropped. All the answers that we have been waiting for have been revealed. Hulu’s latest psychological crime-thriller is created by Elise McCredie and Matt Cameron and is based on In the Clearing by J. P. Pomare. The screenplay is adapted from the book by Elise McCredie, Matt Cameron and Osamah Sami. Jeffrey Walker and Gracie Otto serve as the directors for the thriller.
The main cast for the series includes Teresa Palmer, Miranda Otto, Guy Pearce and Julia Savage. It also features Hazem Shammas, Kate Mulvany, Xavier Samuel, Anna Lise Phillips, Mark Coles Smith, Harry Greenwood, Erroll Shand, Doris Younane, Claudia Karvan, Miah Madden, Gary Sweet, Alicia Gardiner, Matt Okine, Jeremy Blewitt, Lily La Torre, Ras-Samuel Welda’abzgi, Berlin Lu and Kristof Kaczmarek.
The producer for this series is Jude Troy and the executive producers are McCredie, Cameron and Walker with Richard Finlayson and Elizabeth Bradley. There are a total of eight episodes in the show. The runtime of each episode is 40-60 minutes. The Clearing Episode 8 is titled Island and marks the finale for this series.

The Clearing Episode 8 Ending Explained
In The Clearing Episode 8, a lot of the past was exploring and answering some major questions we have been asking. The mystery surrounding Sara’s death for which Henrik went to jail for has concerned everyone. In the finale, we finally get the truth.
When Sara was taken to be part of The Kindred, she was renamed as Asha. Although young, the girl was one helluva person. Even Tamshin, who kidnapped her was not able to convert her and make her part of The Kindred. The job was later given to Amy, who failed too. Thus, as a form of punishment, Adrienne asked Amy to duck Sara’s head in the water and asked her to repeat it time and again until Sara died in Amy’s hands.
Adrienne was smart and recorded it all on camera, including a terrifying confession from Amy that she killed Sara. This was to use against Amy’s parents. But, who are Amy aka Freya’s parents? Well, if you are guessing Henrik then you are absolutely right. In fact, to save Amy from going to prison, Henrik took the blame on his shoulders. But, Amy/Freya isn’t the only one. Anton too is the son of Henrik and Hannah! Adrienne forced them to give up both of their children.
In The Clearing Episode 8 ending, we see that Freya is finally able to find Billy and unite with him. Freya gets to know from Anton that Billy is with his sister Max and Freya’s heart tells her that her daughter will keep her son safe. She escapes from Anton’s clutches in a drugged state. Soon enough the authorities arrive and Anton, Adrienne and Dr. Lantham are all captured from their newly built Kindred HQ.
Freya meets Max, Billy and Wayne and the family is ready to heal and accept. In the end, we also discover that Henrik has killed himself after revealing the location of Sara’s remains.
