How I Met Your Father Episode 8 is directed by Lynda Tarryk and written by Jeremy Roth. The creator of the sitcom is Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger and, it serves as a standalone sequel to everyone’s favourite show from the early 2000s- How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM). The new gang of the show living in New York City includes Hilary Duff, Christopher Lowell, Francia Raisa, Suraj Sharma, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran, Josh Peck, Leighton Meester and Kim Cattrall. The eighth episode of the show has already premiered, with a runtime of 23 minutes.

How I Met Your Father Episode 8: “The Perfect Shot”
Episode 8 of How I Met Your Father is the first in the series that directly connects to its previous episode. The Perfect Shot starts with the essential recap of episode 7, where we see that by the end of Rivka’s bat mitzvah, her mother, a critically acclaimed gallery curator asks Sohpie to send in her best shot for display given how well she managed and photographed the rebellious Rivka at the event.
We start the current episode with Sophie cribbing over how she does not have the perfect photograph to send in and, goes over with her bunch with her friends only to come to the recurring realization of her life is she is good enough in what she does. Our struggling artist meets another- Jesse- who has finally written some pieces without Meredith involved and, is ready to embark back on his musical journey.
We roll over to the next struggle in this episode of Sophie trying to get that perfect shot during which she breaks her tooth and, seeks out Jesse’s help to get a cheap dentist so she can arrive at Drew’s educational auction later in the evening. The episode shows us moments shared by Sophie and Jesse and how much faith the latter has in the former’s passion for photography. We also discovered by the end of the episode that Drew might not just be the pick for Sophie and, a clear suggestion of Jesse and Sophie getting together romantically for the first time since we’ve seen them.

A surprise guest we did not expect in this episode to arrive was Leighton Meester’s Meredith, Jesse’s ex-girlfriend who rejected his proposal publically. Sid and Ellen hatch a plan to keep Meredith from meeting Jesse, simultaneously also giving us some quintessential Sid-Ellen moments that fans have been demanding.
Valentina and Charlie unknowingly become a ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ in this episode. With a dash of stealing and an incorrigible boss on the helm, Valentina and Charlie try to save their day.
How I Met Your Father Episode 8: Final Thoughts
How I Met Your Father Episode 8 seems to have the right amount of heartfelt moments and fun to make it look as close as it gets to the original. From JLo to Dua Lipa, Gen Z references are thrown right in this episode and, they actually come across as funny. However, the highlight of this episode would be the anticipation of the audience if Sophie and Jesse are the one true couple of this season or not.
