His Dark Materials Season 3 Episode 7 and 8 Review
His Dark Materials has finally come to an end. The seventh and the eighth episode of the third season has sealed it and it was one overwhelming ride with everything boiling down to love.
His Dark Materials Season 3 Episode 7 started off with Asriel’s war against Metatron taking its final shape. The Republic of Heaven meets the Kingdom of Heaven and all worlds are left stunned. We see Asriel prepare for the greatest war of his life and seek Marisa’s help to aid him. The common ground linking both the characters in the seventh episode is, of course, Lyra and the love they have for her, no matter how it might have looked to others over the passing episodes and seasons.
As the war enrages, we see Will and Lyra make their way out of the Land of the Dead, to Mary. This time around we find out that even Will has a daemon, a cat called Kirjava. The witches join Asriel and Marisa’s hands in the final war and the Knife bearer and Second Eve find their footing in the present. They discover more about Dust, and what it truly means and see the winning side of the war that wins at the cost of many loved ones.

His Dark Materials Season 3 Episode 8 Ending
At the end of His Dark Materials Season 3 Episode 8, Will and Lyra are forced to part ways. As the two cannot stay in each others’ world and the use of the knife would only give rise to malicious forces, our two protagonists, therefore, part ways. Will returns to his world and his mother with Mary. Lyra goes back to Oxford. We see the two kiss and profess their love for each other and promise that every year on Midsummer’s Day at midday they would visit their spot, where they last sit and have a conversation together.
We take a fast-forward jump to discover that Will is a successful surgeon and Lyra has again learned to read her alethiometer back at Oxford. The two seemed to have kept their promise in their respective worlds as they visit each other, worlds apart on the spot that brings them closer.
