Succession Season 3 Episode 3: A New Attitude

It is not just Jeremy Strong’s Kendall who offers us a new attitude by laughing at his life’s misery becoming a joke on newspapers and stand-up comedy shows but also, Shiv and Roman who are on the edge and eerily patient, respectively. We see Kendall emerge with an attitude that is much needed for his victory from the very start when starts responding to trolling as “being in the conversation”- a very 21st-century move securing a stance that all publicity, good or bad, is essential by the end of the day. But, this calm Kendall demeanour does not hold for long.

With Shiv being appointed the domestic president, our daddy’s little girl seems to be more in mess than ever. She wouldn’t back up Logan initially, who through this course of the episode just asks people to “f—k off,” so yes, he anyway isn’t the nicest person to backup in the scenario. But with Kendall’s “I am sorry for you Siobhan” and Nirvana’s “Rape Me” in the way, Shiv decides to finally flip her hair and walk to the dark side

She extends her support to Logan and she writes a letter, thrashing Kendall as a drug addict and a father that is always absent to his children and sends it out in the open. In all honestly, Shiv was just trying to take a stand and Kendall wouldn’t let her, so the letter kind of seemed to serve him right.

Meanwhile, Roman is clueless and Logan is angry as far the episode goes which is no surprise. However, the surprising element in Succession Season 3 Episode 3 will have to be Tom’s offer to be the scapegoat which seems to have even touched someone like Logan. Tom’s loyalty to Logan is not subtle and his aspiration of sitting on the Waystar throne is no joke, even though clearly his wife, Shiv is now on the line to succession. Given how we have seen Tom be nothing but, another person moved by the glitz and glamour of Roy’s lifestyle, this massive offering from his end really gives depth to his character showing that he might just care beyond the surface too.

Succesion Season 3 Episode 3: Final Thoughts

With the entry of the FBI to raid the company building as Shiv watches and Kendall rejoices in the dark, Succession Season 3 is heading towards a really dark and disruptive plotline.
