Grosse Pointe Garden Society Episode 2 Recap
The second episode opens with Catherine, Brett, and Alice arguing about what to do as Birdie gets up and leaves after getting rid of the mysterious dead body. While Catherine refuses to believe that Birdie would ever go to the police, Alice thinks otherwise. Birdie, however, is at the police station and tells the officer that she and her friends killed someone. She gives him the half-burnt phone later on.
In the present day, Birdie is still conflicted about her relationship with her son, who keeps calling her. Alice goes to pick up Molly’s ashes and Gary seems to be on his villain arc. Elsewhere, Alice’s mother-in-law is goaded by her friends to nudge her harder to have kids. As the women get ready to take care of their beloved garden, 6 months later, Birdie tells the officer everything about their nighttime escapade but the police officer seems to doubt her version of the story and asks her to prove her claims.

In the present, things aren’t going that great for anyone. Brett destroys his son’s school assignment while fighting with his ex-wife while Alice, still reeling from her dog’s death, is shocked to learn about her husband and mother-in-law’s scheme to move back to their house in order to not become homeless. They then have a fight about having children and Alice assures him that she will get the money that they need to live their dreams. As Catherine tries to get Gary out of her house, Ford corners Birdie and asks her for a favour. Six months later, Birdie shows Joel the murder weapons as the other three rush to her house to stop her.
In the present, Catherine talks to Gary’s wife in the grocery store while Alice talks to Doug’s mother to get her job back and eventually uses a sift to find the bullet in Molly’s ashes. She then goes to Doug’s house to get a hold of the gun that the family uses for hunting and is told that the bullet belongs to a handgun, which they don’t own. Meanwhile, Catherine confronts Gary about his wife’s pregnancy and mentions her frustration on being cheated by him and he brings forth her hypocrisy surrounding the whole thing.

Elsewhere, Brett and Melissa have a heart-to-heart about their relationship and she mentions how he left her first for Alice, bringing to light his feelings for her that he might not have realised before this. As he mulls over this information, Birdie gets a visit from Joel and realises that Ford had previously lied to her to get himself an Xbox. Six months later, Joel assures her that nothing will happen to her and her friends because no one will look for the murder weapon inside the police station. As it turns out she’s having an affair with him as well.
In the present, Alice decides to let go of Molly, while reflecting on being better to her husband. In the garden, Catherine realises that she was wrong for everything in the affair as well and confesses to her husband, while Birdie tells Olga about her son. Brett and his family have a great time at his son’s school and Alice realises that her husband might have killed Molly after she finds a handgun in their home. Six months later, the four of them think about what to do with the body while they question Birdie about the phone. It turns out Joel is helping her keep “Quiche” alive.
Grosse Pointe Garden Society Episode 2 Review

Another thoroughly entertaining episode of Grosse Pointe Garden Society full of complications, and not just the murder kind! The episode was thoroughly watchable in more ways than one, following these four people’s lives and showing us how no one is perfect and everyone has something that they would rather leave hidden. The moral dilemmas that they all go through is nothing short of interesting and I can’t wait to find out where some of these plots head to. Plus, considering the list keeps increasing on the hatred list of these four people, I can only wonder who got the rake! Let’s see what the next episode brings for us.
