Garcia Trailer: Francisco Ortiz and Veki Velilla Get Embroiled in a Thrilling Political Conspiracy

Garcia Trailer has been released by HBO Max, which is an upcoming Spanish action-adventure spy series, premiering this month. It is based on the graphic novel by Santiago García and Luis Bustos, published by Astiberri Ediciones. The series is created by Sara Antuña and Carlos de Pando.

The story follows Antonia, a young reporter who quickly becomes embroiled in an elaborate political conspiracy after accidentally defrosting a cryogenically frozen secret agent from the 1960s. Finding himself thrust into a fractured modern world, Garcia, a former pawn in fascist dictator Francisco Franco’s regime, must rely on Antonia’s help to fit in – and decide where his loyalties lie amid a conspiracy to upend the Spanish government.

Thrilling and fast-paced, the series spans six decades in Spain’s tumultuous political history, seamlessly blending satire and suspense for a genre-bending adventure of epic proportions. The six-episode series is directed by Eugenio Mira with Miguel Salvat, Steve Matthews, and Antony Root coming together to serve as executive producers on the series.

The cast of the series includes Francisco Ortiz as García, Veki Velilla as Antonia, Daniel Freire, Francisco Reyes, Emilio Gutiérrez Caba, Silvia Abascal, Lola Herrera, Nico Romero, Helio Pedregal, Mario Pardo, Miki Molina, Marina Gatell and Pepe Ocio.

The trailer starts off with a voice asking Garcia, what he remembers last. He was created in some underground lab in the 1950s on the orders of General Francisco Franco’s secret service and cryogenically frozen until now. He says that he only remembers his last mission and soon we are introduced to Antonia, who is being questioned at work to get new stories.

But it looks like her pursuit of a new story will land her in big trouble with the secret services that don’t want their business to be known to the world. But when she meets the secret spy soldier from the past, she has no choice but to get to the bottom of the cause, which is threatening both of their lives. It will be an action-packed series with comical elements like the man of the past, getting used to the technology of contemporary times.
