Fire Force Season 3 Episode 13 Recap
The episode opens with Shinra waking up to a shocking sight, sporting a new hairstyle, piercings, and restrained to his bed by members of his own company, leaving him utterly confused. He soon learns that for the past three months, another soul had been inhabiting his body, behaving in ways completely unlike him. With no memory of this period, Shinra feels as though he has been dropped into an unfamiliar reality overnight.
As he tries to piece together the truth, disturbing details come to light: his behaviour during that time was aggressive, he lashed out at Sister, and even went as far as getting tattoos. Arthur becomes the only one who seriously considers what might have happened, proposing a theory that finally starts to make sense of the chaos. Shinra realises that his body may have been taken over by his doppelganger, casting everything in a far more sinister light.
Sister later sheds more light on the situation, explaining how the world itself has grown more unstable. With the rise in the number of pillars, spontaneous human combustion has surged, pushing society closer to collapse. She also reveals a deeply personal truth and clarifies the incident that led to Shinra’s violent behaviour toward her.

Fire Force Season 3 Episode 14 Review
In this episode, we see a young Benimaru talking with Konro. From the very beginning, Benimaru liked Konro’s technique a lot more, and he expresses that here. Later, we see that from the moment the pillars started arriving, more and more infernals have started to converse, which never really happened before. Everyone thinks that it is the effect of the great cataclysm. Just then, we see how two pillars simultaneously rise up, and this situation is obviously very worrying for Shinra and others.
That is when we get to see a human-sized infernal beside the pillars, and it is none other than Benimaru’s former boss. Needless to say, Benimaru decides to give a welcome to his past mentor and asks everyone not to interfere. Thus, a face-off happens over the waters of the Sumida Riverfront.

The animation showcased in this fight was really good, and through their conversation, it also becomes clear that this doppleganger actually knows about Benimaru and remembers him. He claims that he has returned from hell to show Benimaru his real powers, something that he has forgotten.
The first half of the episode showcases how Benimaru used to train when he was young. He was not the all-powerful captain from the very beginning, as he too struggled to fit in. He was prone to fighting, and it was something that was not appreciated by his boss. It also becomes clear that the strong love that Benimaru has for Asakusa came directly from his boss, who inspired him.
Verdict

This fight was definitely visually brilliant as the animation went off. It was the highlight of this episode, and it was nice seeing Benimaru, who is definitely my favourite character from Fire Force, get the screen time he deserves. I liked what was shown here, and hopefully, the series will follow this pattern even for the later episodes as well.
