Oh, man. How are we here already? Hometown Cha Cha Cha episode 16 starts with Gam-ri’s death and Hye-jin paying respects to her. She clearly has been a big part of everyone’s lives in Gongjin and that is apparent by how hurt Hye-jin is at her funeral. Seong-hyeon is also there to pay his respects. Everyone comforts each other and her death becomes a reason for everyone getting together as a community.

The next day as Gam-ri’s friends comfort each other, Hye-jin tries to cook for Du-sik. However, in his refrigerator, she finds the corn that Gam-ri had given him and she hands him over a letter that she had written for him. They read it together and I must say, it’s such an emotional moment for our protagonists and us. If you’ve become attached to Gongjin’s inhabitants, then this moment will definitely touch you because Gam-ri’s character has had such a nice growth.

We see everyone in Gongjin mourning her death in their own ways; it’s a tearful moment, but a moment with so much hope and warmth regardless. Hometown Cha Cha Cha finale cranks up the emotional factor with her death and then goes straight to a month later.

We then see Hye-jin packing for Seoul. No, she’s not moving, she’s going for a three-day seminar. However, as Mi-seon puts it, it looks like she’s packing such that she’s moving there permanently! When the time comes though, she doesn’t want to go and they talk about keeping each other in each other’s pockets. It’s a little sickening, but oh-so-cute!

After she goes to Seoul, she meets her stepmother and they have a heart-to-heart conversation with each other. She promises to bring Du-sik to visit them soon. Meanwhile, at home, Du-sik hallucinates Hye-jin all over his house. The next day, he creates a mess at the café and rushes off to meet Hye-jin. The smiles on their faces are just so big that it’s genuinely great to watch them together!

Hye-jin tells Mi-seon in Hometown Cha Cha Cha episode 16 that she will propose to Du-sik the next day and they discuss proposal options. She seems very excited at the prospect but is scared wondering what will happen if he rejects her proposal.

The next day in Hometown Cha Cha Cha finale, Hye-jin asks Du-sik to meet her at the beach. Once there, they discuss how they met there the first day and tells him that she’d like it if they can keep their shoes beside each other forever. As in, she proposes to him. Unfortunately, Du-sik looks absolutely dejected because he had also brought a ring for her that he wanted to propose with.

It’s a hilarious situation where both are dumbfounded. However, he then starts telling her how he was attracted to Hye-jin on the first day they met. He then gives her a beautiful necklace and tells her that he worked 637 hours to buy this and she dare not sell it again. She promises to not do so and agrees to marry him.

The next day, in Hometown Cha Cha Cha episode 16, the two discuss how they should divide chores after marriage. He asks her to call him something other than Chief Hong, now that they are going to get married. They try Du-sik and oppa and after that doesn’t work, both settle on jagi. It’s so cute and the two blushing while having this entire conversation made my day. After two pecks, she decides to not go home and he tells her that he wouldn’t let her go. After that, he carries her to the bedroom. Yepppp.

As they rush out, everyone seems to be cross with them since they are late. However, Hye-jin announces in front of everyone that they are getting married and everyone starts celebrating. It’s such a happy moment!

Then, in Hometown Cha Cha Cha episode 16, Hye-jin comes out wearing her wedding dress for a photoshoot. Both of them look very beautiful and happy. Their wedding will take place in Seoul, however, since their lives met in Gongjin, she wanted to have a photoshoot there. One by one, though, the two are joined by the entire neighbourhood, making the photoshoot an absolute (but fun) mess.

After a while of trying, the two run for it to take some self-photos.
