What to Expect From the Final NCT 127 The Lost Boys Episodes? When Are They Releasing?

To keep the K-pop boy group’s fans on their toes, Disney+ released only the first two episodes of the latest South Korean music documentary series on August 30, 2023, but the final NCT 127 The Lost Boys episodes (NCT 127 더 로스트 보이즈) are to premiere on a different date. the mini docuseries features the 9 members of the Seoul-based sub-unit of NCT (an otherwise huge group consisting of 20 members with several sub-units) – Taeyong, Taeil, Johnny, Doyoung, Yuta, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Mark and Haechan – in a never-seen-before way, as they open up about their childhoods and their loving and intriguing takes on their fellow band mates.

The 4-part miniseries has been directed by Pak Jayil, and created by Cho Youngchul and Yim Pilsung. The NCT 127 documentary episodes stylistically reinterpret and rework the past anecdotes of the members, with illustrations, animations and other artistic media allowing the creators to reshape the common monotonous approach applied by documentaries while shedding light on their subject matter.

Episodes 1 and 2, releasing on August 30th, delved into the life stories of Mark and Haechan, and Yuta and Taeil respectively. This novel onscreen project offered the members to reclaim their childhood and emerge out of all the pains from their past through a healthy channel. Other than that, the episodes also focussed on the nonet’s successful rise since their debut in 2016 and included exclusive interview footage.

The series allows audiences to view K-pop artists and the “neo” group in a new and humbler light as opposed to either their power-packed performance-oriented dispositions or entertaining personas in variety show segments. Now, let’s learn more about what the upcoming episodes have to offer!

Final NCT 127 The Lost Boys Episodes Release Date

Both the new upcoming entries, i.e. Episodes 3 and 4, will release on the same date – September 6, 2023, at 12:30 PM IST on Disney+ and Hulu exclusively.

After having already brought in 4 NCT 127 members close to the camera in the first two episodes, the third one will carry on with the remaining ones and their sides of the story. As relayed through the Episode 3 description listed on Hulu, the third entry will deal with NCT DoJaeJung’s – Jaehyun, Doyoung and Jungwoo – unspoken truths.

Jaehyun will tap into his candid innate self by trying his hand at stand-up comedy, through which he will put into words what it felt like traveling back and forth from the US to South Korea during his rookie years. Thereafter, Doyoung will open up about how singing helped him get past his old traumas, and Jungwoo will put on a clown performance, and shed light on the importance of laughing for him while also talking about his mother.

Then left with Johnny and Taeyong, the last episode of the series will pick up the threads of the former’s experience as the longest training member, and what and who helped him endure through those long 8 years, all in the form of an improv play. Finally, Taeyong’s segment will dive deep into how he grew into the role of the group’s leader. And then, through a child’s play, he will also speak about his sister and late dog Ruby’s gigantic roles in his life.

In another news, a new NCT 127 comeback is on the horizon as the group is preparing for its next full-length album Fact Check, which will drop on music platforms on October 6, 2023, and Taeyong has called it their most “NCT 127-esque” release yet. This news was unveiled during the band’s full group concert NCT Nation: To The World. As for the group’s latest musical endeavour, NCT recently released their 4th studio album titled Golden Age on August 28, 2023.
