EXO is back to needling their fans through the EXIST Cream Soda teaser image. In light of their new album releasing soon, they have announced yet another single after the release of Let Me In and Hear Me Out. The single announced will be the third and final single before the release of the album. In the images, we see the band members in black and white clothing, creating one of the most edgy aesthetic visuals ever. This completely goes against any presumptions viewers might have had about the music video.
Previously, on July 2, 2023, the official Twitter handle uploaded the teaser images for Chanyeol, Chen, Suho and Baekhyun. Overall, the general aesthetic looks like a neon light, gritty action thriller, nighttime phenomenon. Even though most visuals don’t feel like they have textures, the association of the phrase ‘creamy breath’ mentioned in the images gives the vibe that there is something flowing, and it might not be the best thing. Cream soda has some connotations, and this blows all of them right out of the water.
This song is from their 7th studio album titled EXIST, which is set to release soon this month. There will be nine songs on the album. Cream Soda is supposed to be a dance-pop song with some exotic rhythms and deep upbeat brass, keyboard and drum instrumentation. While the official sources share that the song is about falling in love to cream soda. It definitely sounds like a sensual track that is meant to use this title as an innuendo to explore more mature themes with innocuous wordings and denotations.
Fans have taken to share their deeply personal feelings, including how some band members look like Mr Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. Others have taken more extreme takes at their affection for the band and this photoshoot to ask members to ingest their blood. This is perhaps a reference to the fact that most of them look like Victorian vampires out for a hunt.
