Emancipation Trailer: Will Smith’s Historical Thriller Shows War Against Slavery

Emancipation trailer is finally out and we are looking forward to the historical action filled with the right amount of thrill for us all. Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the movie stars Will Smith, Ben Foster, Grant Harvey, David Denman, Charmaine Bingwa, and Imani Pullum, alongside other cast members.

Emancipation revolves around a slave who forges a torturous route through the swamps of Louisiana to escape from the plantation owner who almost killed him.

The trailer shows the slave Peter who is taken away from his family but on the way, he has decided to leave behind his days as a slave and join Lincoln’s army that is fighting for the freedom of slaves. He informs his fellow slaves of a path through the swamps that takes five days and is the way for them to reach Lincoln’s army.

While others fear the dangers of death that lie within the swamps, Peter is adamant about escaping because he does not see his life as any better than death. If they have to die either way then dying in the swamp is his choice.

He makes his journey through the swamps while carefully hiding from the colonists and army as he follows the sound of cannons to reach Lincoln’s army. Remembering his family on his way there, he rushes through the forests and the swamp while being chased by the oppressors.

He will make his way to his fight for freedom and will look at his enemies with triumph in his eyes.

The trailer brings goosebumps to the watchers because the talents of the actors are capable of moving you to tears. The man’s struggle and his will for freedom are so powerful, and knowing that these are events based on a true story, only strengthens our emotions.

This movie is definitely one to look forward to and having finally set its release date, we can finally mark the date on our calendars.

Emancipation is set to release on December 2, 2022, and on December 9, 2022, on AppleTV+.
