Elite Short Stories: Patrick Review: Cabin in the Woods

Elite Short Stories: Patrick aka Elite Historias Breves 2: Patrick is now streaming on Netflix. The series shows us what happens to the lead characters after Elite Season 4. The short story stars Manu Ríos, Diego Martin, Carla Díaz and Martina Cariddi. Just like every Elite short story, the latest one is also divided into three parts.

The synopsis reads, “Patrick’s trip to a cabin in the woods during Christmastime results in an unexpected but significant outcome.”

Netflix’s Elite Short Stories: Patrick Review Contains No Spoilers

In Elite Season 4, among the three siblings, Patrick (Manu Ríos) came across as a spoiled brat. But as episodes passed by, we realised that love was all he wanted. In Elite Short Stories: Patrick, we learn more about Patrick’s vulnerabilities, which weren’t highlighted in the series.

In Elite Short Stories: Patrick, Patrick is in a bad mood because of his mundane life. He’s not happy with their prison-like house; he’s bored of parties, pretentious life and no Christmas spirits. His father, Benjamin (Diego Martin), yells at him for being a brat and not considering that his sister Ari (Carla Díaz) is still recovering from the attack in Season 4.

Ari overhears all the conversation and decides to celebrate Christmas to make her brother happy. Patrick is glad that someone remembered it is Christmas time, but he still has no peace of mind. That’s when he decides to take a trip along to the cabin in the woods. He wants to say away from fake parties, orgies and men.

Patrick’s plans to get some peace goes downhill when he sees a group of men partying in the neighbourhood cabin. They lure in into partying with them and give him lots of drugs and drinks. Patrick loses control over his emotions and faces the truth about the life he’s been running from since childhood. It has something to do with his sister Mencía (Martina Cariddi).

Netflix’s Elite Short Stories: Patrick is one of the best short stories to release so far. We get to know a lot about Patrick and why he is the way he is. It’s meaningful, and the ending changes the dynamics of the Blanco family. We also learn that Ari is still recovering from the attack. No wonder she had no time to contact Samuel during the Christmas holidays.

Actor Manu Ríos has done an incredible job as Patrick Blanco. As an arrogant teenager or a scared and caring brother, Manu gives a good performance. Actors Diego Martin, Carla Díaz and Martina Cariddi also play their parts well.

Elite Short Stories: Patrick Review: Final Thoughts

Overall, the short stories bring us closer to who Patrick really is. He has been feeling guilty for years for something that wasn’t even his fault. That made him such a bitter person who would never let anyone come close to him. Do watch it to know his side of the story.

The series is now streaming on Netflix.
