On January 17th, 2025, South Korean Boyband EXO member Doh Kyung-soo Snowfall at Night music video was released and brought us the winter magic that we had all been looking forward to. With his melodious voice and an animated video that tells a story so beautiful that brings you a hint of nostalgia, this is a song that will make you fall in love with the singer all over again. Showing a man returning to his childhood through an unexpected reunion, this song is filled with happiness, longing, nostalgia, and his feelings towards his EXO members who are soon to reunite.
Popularly known as the EXO D.O., he made his solo debut on July 26th, 2021 with his first mini album Empathy. Since then, he has seen a rise like no other as he brought about numerous projects for fans. Prior to that, he also made his acting debut in 2014 with the Kdrama It’s Okay, That’s Love, which received a good rating and gave rise to his popularity as an actor as well. Meanwhile, group activities with all EXO members were put on hiatus since 202 when the members were to take part in their mandatory military service.
2025 is proving to be a year for EXO-Ls around the world because this is the year when all members of the Boyband are set to complete their military service. While we look forward to D.O. taking part in his group activities, we cannot get over the wonderful solo career he has had so far. Delivering beautiful music to fans for years with his melodious voice, he once again wins hearts with another digital single which is truly winter magic.

Doh Kyung-soo Snowfall at Night MV Review
We have to begin by pointing out the nostalgic cartoon vibes the song brings in this black-and-white animation that takes us back to a time forgotten. We already see a song filled with longing, nostalgia and heartwarming vibes coming up at this point and we are proved right as the song goes on. Keeping things simple, the song shows a man’s journey back to his childhood through a friend with whom he once shared some of his fondest memories.
The penguin friend of the boy in the video represents his childhood, the time when he was the happiest, to which he returns whenever he meets his beloved friend. Always waiting for his return with the same feelings of love and friendship, the penguin friend keeps his arms open for this boy to return and play with him. These aspects of the song are so wonderfully presented that it makes me look back to some of my fondest memories as well.
As the song moves, we see the two having the time of their lives, and when it is time for the boy to return, he is back to being a man. As adulthood calls him back to take up his responsibilities, he looks back to his friend and hopes to return once again. The depth these simple scenes carry is what really touches my heart because this is a longing that I too hold in my heart.
While the music video is truly a beautiful one, what really elevates our emotions is Doh Kyung-soo’s voice which literally melts my heart. His soft melodious voice that is filled with emotions that this boy carries is what has me playing this song on loop. He never fails to bring us some of the best songs out there and he does it again with Snowfall at Night. The combination of his voice, the music video and the lyrics is all I need to have me longing for a snowy day with my childhood.
The lyrics just combine the overall feelings of the singer and the video, making us fall in love with this song. It is truly a wonderful experience, listening to this song, and I am sure you will love it too.
