Divorce Attorney Shin Episode 6 brings people from Shin Sung-han’s past to his office steps & makes him reconsider his sister’s death. While Hyeong-geun braces himself to bid farewell to his married life, he has been holding onto it.

Episode 6 starts with a flashback of Ju-hwa at a convenience store on a rainy night. As she steps out of the store, she gets a call which leaves her stunned and before she could gather herself, she accidentally steps onto the road where an oncoming truck hits her. This explains how she died but also questions the identity of the caller and what they could have said.
In the present day, Shin Sung-han visits the grave of his sister & parents who are buried adjacent to each other. It’s actually Ju-hwa’s birthday & the emotional Sung-han expresses his concerns to his family members, who are resting in peace. He reaches late to the office, almost at noon time but awkwardly says good morning to everyone, which everyone finds odd & senses something is wrong.
While Sung-han is embarrassed at his awkward greeting, Gi-yeong’s grandmother Ma Geum-hwi comes looking for him at the office. Apparently, Jeong-sik was also there & he tries to send her away but Hyeong-geun escorts her to Sung-han’s room. Flabbergasted by her visit, he confusingly greets her. But as we saw her personality in the last episode, she cuts to the chase & asks where is Ju-hwa’s grave.
It turns out that she was not in the country when Ju-hwa died nor does she know where she is buried. Similarly, not even the ex-husband knows about it. The question irks Sung-han and while controlling his anger, he asks her to leave while giving her his card – in case she needs a divorce consultation. But grandmother strikes again by repeating that kindness is weakness, insinuating that Ju-hwa’s tragic fate is her own fault.
Meanwhile, in Professor Choi Jeong-ho’s case, we see the family together for the first time, where the mother Kim Ji-suk is furious that the girlfriend called up her son, which led him to come back. While the son laments that he will give his liver to his dad & doesn’t want to live abroad anymore due to his deteriorating mental health & panic attacks. When his mother refuses, he then reminds her that she can divorce him then, so that the girlfriend can donate & he won’t.
Ji-suk later visits the girlfriend at her hair salon & creates a ruckus by saying that she had to give up her career to become a housewife & releases all her frustration on her. Later on, in the divorce mediation, Sung-han plays a phone call of Ji-suk where she is clearly angry about the insurance being cancelled since she can’t claim the money after his death.
The defendant’s lawyer rebuts it by saying that recording someone’s phone call without permission is illegal & they will sue for it. Then we get to know that it was all Sung-han’s plan & this was the criminal record he was talking about as they just needed the proof of the real intention of the wife to show her priorities. And it worked in their favour as she agreed to divorce.
With this case, Sung-han contemplates colouring up the last grape & finally seeing the end of what he had determined. But doesn’t fill it right away & gets interrupted by Lee Seo-jin who congratulates him for the work done. He also answers her question from the last episode by saying that their cases were different as the parents wanted to save themselves while Seo-jin wanted to save her son. While she also starts to take consultations alone, as per Sung-han’s order.
There were a few light moments where the trio goes on camping along with Choi Jun but their way of relaxation is very different from the new joinee & funny moments ensues from their interactions. While Gi-yeong’s grandma asks Jin Yeong-ju about the grave as well and asks her to take Gi-yeong there. Here we get to know that Yeong-ju & the husband were former lovers, before he met Ju-hwa & the mother-in-law didn’t agree to their marriage.
Irked by Ju-hwa’s mention, she summons Park Yu-seok to get more information about him & decides to call him for a meetup. But when Sung-han sees the number on his phone, he gets reminded of the day when he visited the police station to check Ju-hwa’s call logs & investigate about the last caller. Turns out its the same number with 1225 ending. But when he had asked about the number that time, the police told him that it was his sister’s friend who casually called her.
Even when Sung-han called it, the number was out of service. Suddenly, after these years he is getting a call from the same number & as he picks up he gets to know the real person who called his sister last. Yeong-ju asks him to meetup regarding something & even discuss about Gi-yeong but he refuses & says that he will discuss with the dad only.
After finally knowing the identity of the caller, Sung-han is convinced that Yeong-ju definitely had some role in Ju-hwa’s death. He furiously goes to his office and colours up the last grape & writes down the number 1225. Even at the end of the episode, a man comes for consultation, asking him to prevent a divorce & takes out Yeong-ju’s card saying she told him to come.
On the other hand, Hyeong-geun finally let go of Ji-eun by filing for divorce & even buys a stroller for the kid, as a last goodbye gift. While he is heartbroken at the restaurant, his tears stops falling when he sees his friends there, looking out for him.

The episode of a mix of bittersweet moments. Professor’s divorce case definitely confused me, as I felt bad for his wife too but her selfishness took over. Meanwhile, the chemistry between the three friends always brings a smile, and the portrayal at the camp site was accurate to the T. Also, now that Sung-han has decided to take his revenge, I am excited to know what will happen next.
My guess is that Yeong-ju called up Ju-hwa to tell her that she was having an affair with her husband, all the while they were married. Or that she is pregnant with the daughter. Also, the mother-in-law’s laugh & the kindness comment feels like she knew that her son is definitely not a good man & if Ju-hwa isn’t strong enough she will be hurt by his actions & that’s what happened.
