Dexter: Resurrection is Coming to Give You Nightmares… and Laughs!

Are you prepared for another chapter of darkness and redemption from your favourite serial killer, Dexter Morgan? Then wait no more because Dexter: Resurrection is here for more blood, guts and cellophane! The saga, which started in 2002 with Dexter and ran for 8 seasons, ending in 2013, was revived in 2021 with Dexter: New Blood, followed in 2024 with Dexter: Original Sin. And now, a year later, we are ready for Resurrection, which continues the legacy of Paramount’s beloved and complex character.

Dexter: Resurrection Plot

The new series will pick up right after the events of New Blood, and, although presumed dead, the trailer makes it apparent that that was just a red herring. Dexter is very much alive and ready for a new bloody adventure! Recovering from a near-fatal wound inflicted by his son Harrison, the sequel picks up several weeks later as he wakes up from a coma, desperate to find his son in New York City, while Detective Angel Batista is hot on his trail, set to nab him at any cost.

In the midst of this is elusive billionaire Leon Prater, who seems to have some hidden motives with Morgan and other serial killers like him.

Unfortunately for fans, Jennifer Carpenter will not be returning this season.

Creator Clyde Phillips, who oversaw Dexter (Seasons 1–4), New Blood, and the prequel Original Sin, will return for Resurrection. Production will be led by Marcos Siega (directing six episodes) and Monica Raymund (directing four).

Coming back to get to the bottom of father-son dynamics and explore moral ambiguity once more, Resurrection has fans excited.
